Excellent pocket friendly and key chain pen, always ready to write
I have always wanted a pen as part of my EDC but full size pens are uncomfortable in my pocket. I watched a video about Altoids survival tins (by Urban Prepper) which featured a True Utility pen so I checked them out. Reasons why I really like this pen It telescopes out the back end rather than toward the tip, which is important to me because I have large hands. The pen is thick enough to give me good writing control It takes up very little room in my pocket, it is exactly the same size as my Olight I3E flashlight The magnetic cap won't come loose in my pocket The ballpoint is small but writes evenly, and the 3 refills that come with the pen are good to have Minor complaints I wish the cap could affix to the back end when writing, that would make it harder to lose I wish the pens came in different colors

I don;t know how many times I've had to borrow a pen... Never again.
This actually my third one of these, but this is my first one with a magnetic holder. Much better.... The bank, the grocery store, a note for a friend... a pen is an essential tool (and a note pad) and you should always have one with you. I carry this on my car/house keys which are always with me. Consequently, I always have a pen. It writes well, is secure in it's holder, and comes with refills. Much better than the other styles. Get one....

Great design, not great construction
PROS: I really love the design of this. I also have the regular telepen and like this one much more. This one is comfortable to hold in my big hands since it telescopes out the back while you hold the widest part. The magnetic cap holds very well and is satisfying to snap in place. CONS: After about 5 weeks, I went to open the pen and the whole telescoping part came out entirely. It is just glued in and apparently not with good glue. I reglued it with Gorilla Glue and don't expect I'll have that problem again. Also, the dark brown/bronze finish is wearing off in places where it contacts the keys on my ring. Overall, I like it for the price and it's handy to have on your keyring. They need to use better glue and I'd prefer to have plain steel over a cheap finish that wears off. Ideally I'd prefer anodized aluminum for the colored part. I'd pay more for a higher quality "pro" version if they offered it.

1month 1 day then broke. Just go and get the PICO Pen or anything else instead.
It lasted a month and 1day now something inside rattles and the ink cartage doesn't stay in place at all so I can't even write with it. Honestly do you self a huge favor and get something solid and dependable with refills you can easily get online or a office supply store. You have to order the true utility pen refills from them and their over in the damn UK so postage is gonna be pretty hard. Honestly just get yourself the pico pen by TEC. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0991557557/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is superior in all but length of pen, better key ring attachment better ink refills and quality of refills this pen uses the Fisher Space pen universal refills. Better magnet cap and smaller size takes up less space in the pocket. Honestly the PICO PEN BY TEC is great quality product in nearly every way thought the price is a a bit more but there is not doubt once so ever that the PICO will break in the middle of jotting down a message like the true utility telepen did.

Great product
Love this product, very handy and durable. I have had several and although if you don’t use it the ink dries up, just use it and it will be fine

I can write cursive again.
This pen is for everybody, not just the gadget lovers. I can clip the lid to the outside of my purse, and the magnetic support keeps the pen in the lid. Easy to deploy, just grab the pen from the base and pull, it will telescope out as you uncapped it. It writes smoothly, and the position.of the wider barrel near the tip makes the.pen feel stable and sturdy. The barrel is long enough to write in cursive as well as block letters.

Perfect for me, writes well.
Telescopes from the rear, and stays clicked in via a magnet in the cap. Just make sure to do the jiggle test as I had to tighten down the key "ring" attachment. But other than that it feels sturdy

Convenient, but watch your ink!
This compact pen is not really practical in a lot of circumstances, but for me it is perfect! The fact that it shrinks down to a mere 6cm and fits on a keyring is amazing to me. I work in my car a lot and ALWAYS need a pen. This little guy attaches to my own keyring, or you can use the nice one that it comes with. It is held quite strongly onto the cap via magnets. You simply pull it off of the cap (which remains attached to your keys). You then extend the pen by grabbing onto the bottom and gently pull. The pen extends into a decent enough length for comfortable writing. The main disappointment for me (and hence ONLY for stars) was how quickly the ink ran out on my initial cartridge. I used the pen probably six times prior to needing to be changed. It thankfully came with three refills that were easily changed, but are not very easy to just keep with you. I do recommend this pen for the convenience factor, as long as you are fully aware that you could run out of ink very quickly and without warning.
