A Magical Alliance: Magic City Chronicles, Book 2

I enjoyed this one a bit more but I find the constant battles exhausting. I wish there was more time for character development such as seeing the relationship with Idryll grow. All we've actually seen is the two of them in battle. No time references make it hard to accept her relationships with roomies and family members are progressing--everything is simply presented as-is and it leads to a sense of disconnect for me. Overall, this is a decent read, but I would like to see more character interaction and plot development outside of battle.

Gambling with lives. Unusual and non-humanoid partners. Introduction of tie in with former series with a TROLL. Quests. Siblings. Snark. Magic and technology. I truly love the blend of elements in the universe. The portalling between three residences is my only concern. It seems a bit of padding of words or space. However, it does give characters and the reader a breather from the action. Sometimes it is a chance to gulp for air before the next sentence rather than after.

Ruby and Idyrll are trying to get rid of evil magicals who are trying to take over the city. The books have lots of fighting and humor in them, and surprise visits from other series. The books are very good and I could not put them down until I finished. I am very much looking forward to the next book.

I have liked the change of pace reading this book. Lots of action, great friends, the whole experience. Now I'm waiting to have it all ripped away. Hahaha. TR writes a very solid story, then he gets twisty, I love it and am waiting for book 3. This should be a ride!

I liked that Ruby takes on the bad guys, even when she does not have to, and that she is really smart, prepares both herself and allies. I would have liked to learn what the bad guys revealed, but it will have to wait. Already tried to pre-order the next one.

Ruby and her now life long buddy are trying to find who is behind the crime in Magic City and fight it. They have met Diana and Rath, love Rath and wonder if they will met YumFuck! Heading to read number 3!

This is a wonderful series. It’s easy to get caught up in the story and I truly believe that Martha is one of the best storytellers around today.

Well written and edited. Sister with a bow useful, but she has to be able to fight hand to hand.

Loving this series. Ruby and Idryll in action. Another late night as I just had to know how things turned out. Was not disappointed. Lovely to see some 'old faces' from another series.

I really like this series. The characters are well written and likeable. The story flows really well and plenty of action keeps me engaged. Waiting for the next one.

Just a good solid read. More and more please.
