Stops running into the trees
I bought this after seeing mixed reviews about it. It now steers the bot within mm of trees and avoids them. It is driving around my trampoline. Before adding this it was hitting everything. This does not give it depth perception as it still will go over my curb. I'm hoping that it saves the sensors and the bot lasts longer as it is not constantly hitting things. It is an expensive add on and may make the bot safer, but it already is safe as it stops the blades as soon as it is lifted and it is fully enclosed.I would buy it again as it may steer around something someone left in the yard and the bot may last longer. The install is very easy and will take you 5 minutes. All of the tools and screws are included.

This add-on feature works fine.
This installable module works great and stopping the Landroid from bumping into objects. It works as described. But given the fact that Worx is not supporting their products I plan on returning the lawnmower and all added features to Amazon for a refund and looking closely at other manufacturers ofRobotic Lawnmowers.I decided to keep the mower and learn to support it myself. .After one year of using the Lanlord as a back yard mower I have changed my opinion on it. While it is difficult to setup. Once the initial laying of guide wires is complete and the inevitable changes to the initial design this Robotic Lawnmower works great. It keep my 1/2 acre lawn cut perfectly. It does require some periodic maintenance like replacing the blades but otherwise I am very happy with the mower. The fact that it will only run on a 2.4 GH Wi-Fi channel is something I wish Worx would change because 2.4 GH has a lot of traffic on it. I have to add a router end point in my attic for the Worx Lanlord to be able to stay connected to Wi-Fi. Otherwise all is good.

Basically useless
If there's a patch of high grass, the mower will simply go around when the radar is installed! Over a 3 weeks period, the situation just got worse to the point I had to deactivate it completely. It has also troubles avoiding objects that are less than 5 inches high, so makes this device useless basically.

Easy to Install and Works as Advertised
The Worx robotic mower, Landroid, is supported by occasionally updated Firmware (software). Currently (as of June 2020) it is not possible to turn the ACS system on & off by smartphone app. Once installed, ACS remains 'on' constantly during unit operation. This 'on/off' option has been promised by Worx to be included in the next Firmware update. I would very much like this option as I've built a 'garage' around my Landroid's charging station and I'd like to have slit rubber mats acting as 'doors' at the entrance and exit of this station. But currently can't do this with the ACS active as it would see these mats as obstructions. I'd like to have ACS come 'on' say after a 5-sec delay when Landroid starts. That way it could leave garage passing through the slotted exit mat. When coming 'home' for a battery re-charge, I'd also like to have the ACS turned off, so it can enter charging station through the entrance mat.
A**!
Could NOT be more disappointed!
I love the mower! This ACS add-on is definitely not worth the money I paid at all. It simply does not work. I have tested and have security footage of this crashing into everything all of the time. It might SOMETIMES (like 10% of the time) go around an obstacle. It runs into people, pets, trees, shrubs, totes, cars, and into SHEDS! Automotive technology it states. No way it is. I purposefully moved boundary lines and added the ACS sensor to mow around sheds and so forth. It just runs into everything! Placed cones and large (27 gallon) totes and you would expect something to work. NOPE. Completely failed 100% Stand 20 feet in front of it, and it will run into you every single time and without fail. The handful of times it HAS managed to avoid running NON STOP and directly into everything in front of it... it cuts the corner around the object like a little old lady overcompensating and hitting the obstacle width the rear wheel multiple times. After days and days of testing... I have only THREE instances of the device actually working and at least 200 complete fails. I am sick that I paid so much for something that simply does not work. ONE THIRD the cost of the entire mower, and it does nothing it is supposed to. I rave about the mower every day. I love ( we call "him" MO-E) get it (MOW) and planned to purchase the next iteration (vision) in another year (maybe two/ after warranty). Now, I am not so sure! I will have to package this back up and send it back. Then rewire the yard again, and maybe see if there is a better option on my next mower purchase.. because my faith (this ACS is a garbage device) in Worx has tanked.UPDATE: I reached out to Worx support and they claim that this is intended behavior. ?!?!?! They claim that the algorithm is the best that it can be, and that the mower turns off the ACS as it recovers from sensing the wire, and will not turn back on until seconds after it straightens itself out. Had no explanation about running into everything (runs over me and I am over 15" tall of course!). The bumper sensor is all you need, and the ACS is a complete waste of your money.
