Great book. Didn’t finish it for reasons that should be obvious
This book was very helpful (for what I read) and really helped me understand my own ADHD a little better. I’m sure the rest of it is great and I swear I’ll get around to finishing it one of these days.

Deceptive Book Title
I am an 86 yr. old retired psychiatrist with ADD. You will notice that as a result I make many misspellings below. First I appreciate a number of ideas in the book that amplify or expand the understanding of ADD malfunctioning. I am disappointed that about half of the book is focussed on NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP).. From previous experience I have been familiar with the ideas of NLP. Perhaps this model is helpfu to some with ADD. I did not find it helpful.I do not recall seeing in the book a stement of the factual major functional defect in ADD: working memory. Those with ADD perform poorly on the Symbol-number substitution test. How does NLP explain that? The book also fails to cite the prevalance to some degree of ADD, about 10% of both sexes. This prevalance makes it a major public health issue that is insufficiently delt with, especially in grade schools.I believe the book title is deceptive and should be changed to acknowlledge its focus on NLP.

It's poorly written and poorly researched.
I'm only 17 pages in and I don't think I'm going to be able to finish. The lack of sources cited makes this book feel like a joke. I turned to the back and there were 19 sources in a bibliography for a text of 170 pages. I feel conned. It's also not well written and EXTREMELY repetitive. The second chapter reads like the author wrote two versions of the same paragraph and instead of cutting the weaker one, left both in. Also the whole reference to "many Native American tribes" is racist and shows a lack of research and respect for indigenous cultures. I'm an avid reader and I've read some bad books through and through but I don't think I can justify wasting my time with this one.
