Tiny Plug, Big Brain
Good**✅ **Setup in Seconds**: Plug it in, download the Tapo app, and boom—connected in under 2 minutes. No tech degree required .✅ **Voice Control Bliss**: Works flawlessly with Alexa and Google Home. “Alexa, turn off the coffee maker” is my new morning mantra .✅ **Away Mode MVP**: Randomly turns devices on/off to fake that “someone’s home” vibe. Peace of mind for under $20? Yes, please .✅ **Schedule & Timer**: Automate your lamps, fans, or holiday lights. Set it once, forget it forever .✅ **Device Sharing**: Let your roommate/spouse/kids control it too. No fighting over the app .---### **bad**❌ **App Overload**: Tapo app is functional but clunky. Feels like a beta version compared to TP-Link’s Kasa app .❌ **No Energy Monitoring**: Want to track how much power your devices use? Look elsewhere .❌ **Single Outlet**: Can’t control two devices at once. If you need more, grab a smart power strip instead .

Good quality kit at a nice price
I have 3 of these now plugs now. They are very easy to set up using their App. And also compatible with Alexa and work well together. They are small enough to not interfere with other plugs on your socket. Good quality kit at a nice price.

Best smart plug app
Great so far! The setup with the Tapo iPhone app and each plug has bas been simple, best part about the plug, is the app. The functionality of the app is far better than others I have used, out-of-the-box routines for auto-turning off, schedules ...What I Like:• Schedules: Setting up schedules (can be done at set times or sunrise/sunset). I’ve got my plug set to turn on (sunset) and off automatically at certain times, which has been really useful for my lamps.• Timers: The automatic timer feature is awesome for turning off the plug after a certain amount of time—I have a fan going in the gym, if it is left on by accident it automatically turns off after 2 hours.• Electricity Usage: The app also shows the history of electricity usage, going from a single day to the year. It’s helped me keep track of how much energy my devices are using, and I’ve even cut down on some wasted power.Design:The plug is small and doesn’t take up much space, which is handy as some of my plug sockets are quite low to the ground. There’s also a manual switch on the side if you want to turn it on or off without using your phone—super convenient if your phone isn’t nearby.Alexa Integration:The Tapo app integrates with Alexa, so I can control everything with just my voice. “Alexa turn on the lights”. Obviously need to tell Alexa which sockets are lamps and which are other objects. But the name synchronise between Alexa and Tapo, so only need to do it once in Tapo.Overall, I’m really happy with the Tapo Smart Plug. It’s easy to use, integrates well with other devices, and the energy monitoring is a nice bonus.Rating: 5/5

Easy to use and setup, love the live energy monitoring!
Pros:- Energy monitoring is amazing! You can see exactly how much power was used when, and how much is being used live.- Schedules and timers work perfectly even when you're not home.- Ability to use it when away from home.Cons:- Doesn't currently work with HomeAssistant (I believe this is being worked on!)- The physical button may be hidden if you have a large plug next to it, but this of course won't impact the app/smart functionality, just something to be aware of!

Great smart plug
The Tapo P100 arrived in a compact, cleanly designed box, with delivery swift and without any issues. Inside, the plug was nestled securely, alongside a quick start guide. The packaging, while simple, felt efficient and practical. The plug itself is a small, white plastic device. Its minimalist design means it blends easily into most home decors. It doesn't feel overly bulky, which is a plus, especially when dealing with crowded power outlets. The plastic casing feels sturdy enough for everyday use, and there are no noticeable rough edges or flimsy parts. Setting up the Tapo P100 was straightforward. The accompanying app is intuitive, and connecting the plug to my Wi-Fi network took only a few minutes. Once connected, I found it responsive to commands, both through the app and via voice assistants. I tested the plug in a few different scenarios. First, I connected a lamp to it, setting up a schedule to turn it on and off at specific times. This worked flawlessly, providing a sense of automated convenience. I also used it to control a small fan, which was particularly useful in the evenings. The ability to remotely turn devices on and off, or to set timers, proved to be quite handy. One particularly useful application was when I was travelling. I had a lamp connected to the plug, and setting it to turn on and off at set times gave the illusion of someone being home, which adds a layer of security. The Tapo P100 is a reliable and affordable smart plug. Its ease of use and consistent performance make it a worthwhile addition to any smart home setup. It's especially useful for those looking to automate basic appliances or lighting without breaking the bank. The simple design ensures that it blends in, and the app is user-friendly enough for anyone to navigate.
