the photos are deceiving -- this grinder is a BEAST
My old grinder bit the dust last year. I thought I could get away with not replacing it, but I caught myself wanting to make a few recipes where a grinder would have made all the difference. I began looking for a replacement grinder and found the specs on this grinder were similar to the one I had. The photos made me think the grinder was smaller in size, so I placed the order. While I was surprised at the grinder's size (it's big), I was actually shocked at its performance. This Cuisinart grinder is a BEAST! We all know that meat is more easily ground while semi-frozen, but this grinder chewed through everything I put through it - chicken, ham, venison, and chewy cuts of roast. There was no hesitation and cleanup was a breeze every time.It comes with the regular selection of blades, but everything goes together and comes apart easily and all components are high quality.I'm so happy I found this grinder and highly recommend it for your meat grinding needs!

Decent little device.
This has been a very handy kitchen tool in the last week. I cubed and ground brisket with 70% ground beef for some great burgers several times and yesterday and today I made brauts. It is easy to assemble and clean and I am pretty happy with it. Get The Sausage Maker hog casings if you are going to make sausages though as they are all derived from North American hogs.

Cutting blade size
What size is the cutting blade? Works amazing but lost my cutting blade and tried ordering 2 different sets and none fit

Works very well for the price.
I use it at least once a week grinding up large, semi-frozen chicken breast. I bought it to replace a manually operated grinder that is not nearly as good as the one my mother had back in the old days. This machine has what appears to be some plastic parts, but the cutting blades and grinding plates are stainless steel. So far, none ot the parts have rust on them, and they are easy to clean. Also the time it takes to complete the job - including cleaning - is a fraction of the time it takes to complete the task over the manual grinder. I should have not ever purchased the manual grinder.I don't know if this electric grinder is suitable for commercial purposes, but for my purposes at home it does the job well. No complaints.I would recommend this unit for home users.

A great grinder for a great price
I love this little grinder. It is my first one and the first time I’ve ever used one. We needed a grinder and this one by Cuisinart was on sale and caught my eye. After reading reviews, we ordered it without much grinding experience to go by. I had harvested, processed and butchered my first deer. We put a lot of meat away for the grinder and were ready to thaw some for some fresh ground venison to make a venison chili. Tips are to have grinder parts cold out of a freezer and your meat to not be fully thawed, but still a bit frozen. This makes grinding easier and is also easier on your grinder itself. As you can see I thawed the venison a bit too much, but the grinder had no problem. It does slow down a bit with the silver skin bits you see in the bowl in my photos. I did remove as much as I could, but know that some in ground venison isn’t too bad. It does gunk up the grinder plate a bit, so remove as much silver skin as you can. I’m not too sure how it would do with fat as my venison had nearly no fat. Assembly was simply and took about two minutes. Cleaning is super easy, the only part that was a bit difficult was inside the grinder itself where the meat goes through, but that’s to be expected. Seems sturdy and well-built. For something that will be used sparingly it should last a long time. Give your grinder a good life span and grind your meat for your dishes fresh. Don’t grind up all your meat and then freeze it. It keeps longer and better not ground and freshly ground venison can’t be beat. A good purchase for sure.

Super good quality
We used a few meat grinders and all of them broke in a few months till we bought this one. This is easy to use, easy to clean and just the right size for use on kitchen counter.

!!CAST ALUMINUM NOT STAINLESS STEEL!!
!!!FALSE ADVERTISING!!! The housing is stainless steel but most of the internal parts are cast aluminum! As someone who is health conscious and careful I find this borderline illegal to not mention at all the real material used. Very disappointed in Cuisinart. And unfortunately I didn't learn this until months after buying it so now I am stuck with a giant paper weight.
