Will this work with 3 gallon American Maid brand water bottles?

This product breaks consistently. I finally got feed up, thru it out and went to lowes purchased a $10.00 primo pump. It has worked wonderfully on 3 and 5 gal. I do not recommend the purchase of the product you are looking at. Go to lowes

Will this fit any 5 gallon screw type caps or will I need an adapter? If yes can I just drill a hole the size of the plastic tube to the screw in caps

Every 5 gallon jug that I have used works great. It provides a good tight fit to where I’m not worried about it leaking. A friend of mine did the same with the 2 gallon bottles by drilling a hole and works very well...

It's a little loud but it's not obnoxious!! You only hear it when you fill your cup of water which is 5 seconds the most? So I don't find it annoying

Does this item come with a screw cap?

No, but if you order water bottles already filled they usually have the blue cap with the small circular tab in the center. Just pop the circular tab into the water and put the hose thru it. Then the dispenser will pop on to the top. If you take the blue cap completely off then it won’t be tight on the bottle.
