Looks sleek and it works
I like that I don't have to constantly refill the reservoir. It sprays the mist really high so I haven't had any problems with the surrounding area being wet and no leaks so far. There's three settings for mist output and I have it on the highest one for my living room I've been using it practically every day for three months. The touchpad is easy to use and you can turn off the blue light if you want. Don't t know how accurate the humidity guage is but I watch it go up and down depending if the heater is blowing; I have it situated under an air vent and it consistently drops to the mid-30s when it blows.Warning to all cat owners that essential oils spreading through the air will kill your cats. I used eo directly in the water as advertised in my old humidifier one winter and my precious fur baby died weeks later with no cause. I didn't realize you can't use eo with cats until I read a review on another humidifier a year later. If you are really into different essential oils you probably know but not if you just buy the occasional eo as a bonus to pair with something like that.

READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE YOU BUY ANY HUMIDIFIER
The Good:I bought two of these units and was very pleased with their performance. They were quiet (even on the highest setting) and I liked the fact that it has a special disinfection cycle. The sleep feature is great - it has two modes: The first setting turns off the bright blue display that illuminates the window that shows the water level of the reservoir. The second setting, which is achieved by keeping your finger on the sleep button longer than 2 seconds, turns off the bright white display for the control buttons as well. The reservoir holds at least enough water to allow it to run, non stop, on high for a full day. That's a big plus. All told, I liked the unit very much but, unfortunately, I wound up giving both of mine away for the following reason...The Bad:I live in a town that has very hard water - i.e. high mineral content. An ultrasonic humidifier creates and disperse a fine mist of water droplets via an small ultrasonic plate that sits in the base. The good thing about this is that you get a high volume of water droplets emitted into the air at a rapid rate. But the bad is that whatever else is in the water (i.e. the minerals) also gets emitted into the air as well. Unfortunately I didn't perform my usual thorough research when I set out to buy a humidifier and, as a result, I wound up learning the hard way that these types of humidifiers (ultrasonic) are NOT ideal for people with hard water as this will leave your environment covered with the dreaded, all-too-common white dust. I mean it was EVERYWHERE. I even tried using only filtered water and although that helped with the white dust problem to a small degree, it didn't mitigate the problem altogether. I also tried the additives that allegedly help mitigate the problem (with 'allegedly' being the operative word here). So without a solution to this problem I finally wound up reaching out to customer service for answers. Although they were very prompt and courteous in their response the answer that I received was not what I'd hoped to hear. Unfortunately that response basically said that I would need to use distilled water which, at $1.50 a gallon, would have worked out to almost $500 for both machines every winter. The cost of distilled water aside, the thought of buying and then lugging home gallon after gallon of distilled water did not appeal to me, to say the least, and then there's all that plastic waste. It quickly became apparent to me that the solution of using distilled water was not going to be a viable option eitherSo I finally did what I should have done in the first place and that was to conduct research into the various types of humidifiers that are sold today. My research concluded that there basically three types of humidifiers:1. Cool mist (i.e. a/k/a ultrasonic)2. Warm mist - mist or, rather, steam that is generated by heating the water - not an ideal solution if you have small children or pets. These also use more electricity as well.3. And finally the third option, Evaporative Humidifiers. which is ultimately what I wound up buying as a replacement - and which I am still currently using and happily so (I am deliberately not stating which unit I purchased out of respect for and in deference to the manufacture or the product that is the subject of this review). Evaporative Humidifiers work by using a disposable filter that wicks water up from the reservoir, through which then a motorized fan draws or pushes air across - emitting INVISIBLE humidified air into the room. The best feature about the evaporative humidifier is that the wicking filter catches and contains all the minerals in the water - leaving those minerals to accumulate in the filter and not on your furnishings. And unlike cool (ultrasonic) or warm mist humidifiers, you do not see any mist coming out of the evaporative humidifier which is actually a good thing since that means the minerals that are in your water are being trapped and contained by the filer as opposed to being emitted into the air. There are only 2 negative factors associated with evaporative humidifiers that I can see: The first is that the wicking filters are a consumable item which means you will have to buy replacements. But this is not a negative for me given that my apartment is now dust free - saving me untold hours of cleaning time - a tradeoff that, in my opinion, is worth the cost. Besides which, the filters are relatively inexpensive and only require changing every 60 to 90 days, depending on the hardness of your water. TIP: You can significantly incerase the life span of the filer if you rotate it every 1 to 2 weeks. That will not only prolong the life of the filter (making it more economical to use) as well as help keep the humidifier operating at peak efficiency. The second negative factor associated with evaporative humidifiers is a relatively minor one: They take a little longer to get your room to the desired level of humidity...and I mean only a little longer, not a lot. The key to using an evaporative (or any) humidifier is to leave it on in automatic mode, set to the level of humidity desired for your environment. It is also IMPERATIVE that you keeping the doors and windows of your home/apartment closed at all times or as much as possible. This piece of advise is true for ALL types of humidifiers. You wouldn't leave your windows and doors open with the heat or air conditioning on as that would prove to be counter productive. This also holds true for humidifiers. Also true of any humidifier is that it will initially take a while to get your environment up to the desired level of humidity -this is because things like carpeting and furniture absorb humidity and it is for this reason that there is an initial 'ramping up' period when you first start running your humidifier. Once the room and its contents (ie carpeting and furniture) reach their 'saturation point' then you'll notice that the ambient levels of humidity in the air will get to where you want them to be. Because of this ramping up phenomena it is imperative to keep your humidifier running all the time set to the level of humidity you desire - and, once again, it's imperative to keep windows and doors closed as much as possible. Once the desired levels of humidity are achieved your unit will then automatically maintain that level once it is reached. But turning it off and on manually and/or leaving windows and doors open will all defeat the purpose. So, keep the unit on and set to automatically maintain the desired levels of humidity - AND - keep your windows and doors closed and you'll find that your humidifier and you will have a happier, symbiotic relationship.I know this review was rather long but I wanted to ensure it encompassed all I have learned thus far about humidifiers - with the hope that the passing on of this knowledge will help others save time and money.I hope this helps.

Excellent humidifier for SMALL spaces
Love, love, love this little humidifier. Quiet, beautiful design (unlike so many which are soooo ugly). My decibel meter recorded a rating of roughly 35 dB when in auto mode and the fan looked to be at least on medium. The auto feature works just as expected as well as sleep mode. The one light that's left on in sleep mode (a little crescent moon icon) was not disturbing to me at all. The packaging was also impressive - I felt like I was opening an Apple product (and you Apple folks will know exactly what I mean).I rated this a 5 star even though I'm returning it. I believe it will absolutely be able to achieve a constant humidity in a small room.I, however, live in the desert in a 1700 sq ft open floor plan condo. We basically have one long rectangle room down the center which is kitchen, dining, and living space and 2 long rectangle bedrooms on either side of that divided into sleeping, bath, and closet. Ceilings are 9 feet. The humidity in our place is so low the inside of my nose has been cracked and in constant pain for 3 straight years. I need a humidifier that will significantly shift the inside level to at least 45% and be able to keep it there permanently. This little guy just won't be able to do that. In the 4 days I've had it running in the bedroom it managed to achieve 45% right around itself - but only briefly. It just couldn't maintain it. And a hygrometer on the opposite side of the room still showed 31%. I also filled it roughly 2x a day.I'm going to try a large capacity (4 gallon) tower one next. One with wheels as well so it's easy to move around the house. I don't know if these ultrasonic ones all have basically the same output volume but I'm hoping a larger one will output more and thus maybe get us to a steady 45%+. At least I won't have to fill it so often if nothing else.

Great performing unit that has a nice look to it
I bought this for myself for Christmas. I liked it so much I got another one for my parents. After 2 months of use we all love it. Living in the Northeast with dry winter nights, this unit is one I would recommend. It does a perfect job of bringing the humidity up in the room. Waking up feeling better. I put it on my dresser and it leaves no wet area which some of the other ones I had in the past did. Nice stream of vapor which you can control. Very easy to clean - mid section is the tank which I just pull out walk over to the sink. It also does not leak or drip when you lift the tank off the base even with water in the tank which is so much better than other units I have had. It has an easy to use touch control panel. A cool looking blue led light to backlight the water level which you can turn off at night. A reading of the current humidity, and an option for timer mode, humidity control and sterilization. If I had one complaint it is that I can't seem to dim the current humidity reading. Other than that I am totally satisfied with this unit. And totally impressed with how it was packaged and sent. Very professional.
