I bought this for my 10yr old son because he really enjoys playing minecraft and Mark Cheverton also had high reviews. This has been his number one favorite book series! It is in close competition with Harry Potter! The book is an easy read for him but he really enjoys the story telling and details that only exist in the book but not in the game. Although he wishes they did exist in game!

Awesome!!! I got it for Christmas and it was one of the best books in the series! Don't read this next bit if you don't want the book to be spoiled.GAMEKNIGHT IS SMITHY OF TWO SWORDS I KNEW IT!!!!I guessed that while reading System Overload. My fifth grader and I have really enjoyed Cheverton's Gameknight series. There are a lot of positive lessons and lots of action. I highly recommend this series for reading esp if reading with your child so you can discuss the inportant life lessons the author walks Gameknight, the main character, through.

My 12 year old gamer loves this series he read this book in 2 days.

My second grader loved this book. He is a huge Minecraft fan and reads above his reading level.

my 20 yr old still enjoys reading these. he is not a big reader so finding a series he enjoys is a plus

My 7 year old son loved this book. It's well written and accessible for a young child although it's all text not pictures so perhaps only really suitable for a 7 year old or older. Also it's quite violent so again only really suitable for a child of at least 7. However despite the violence it's also communicates strong moral principles. I started with this book but it's probably best to begin with the first book and perhaps also look at the box sets, they seem like much better value. One last thing, unlike a lot of children's books this is an easy book for dads to read. Enjoy.
