No more broken axles
My son and I built our own track and use our three Slash Ultimates every weekend. We are THE neighborhood hangout. Each car gets hours of use and abuse every week. I've gotten good at figuring out what are the weak parts of the Slash - first and foremost are the axles. We were breaking an axle in one of our cars every 20 minutes... which meant a ton of down-time, and a bunch of unhappy 7yos.If you use these cars a lot, the MIP axles are a must. When we buy a new car, I replace the axles before even driving a lap on our track. These things are indestructible. It will take FAR more than the 3S (~2hp) Velineon motors to break these things. That is a good thing, and a bad thing. What this means is that something else is gonna break. We are getting hours and hours of use before anything breaks. These axles are not cheap, but at ~$10 per set of plastic axles... it doesn't take that much time to make the cost of the MIPs worth the price of admission if you drive these cars regularly. My best guess is that we have ~4 hours of driving across 3 Slashes before we have a failure in any one car since upgrading to the MIPs. Money well spent! If there's a downside to these axles (other than the $150 cost per car) its the installation procedure. Not sure why these are not put together before you buy them. Instead, you get a bag full of axles, ball joints, and a bazillon tiny set screws. It takes about an hour per car to put four axles together and install them on all four corners. That said... you do it once and forget about it.

Awesome upgrade for Slash 4x4
Installed these on the rear before upgrading to 3s and couldn't be happier! I used plenty of locktight on all the screws and so far haven't lost any, I don't race but plenty of jumps and crashes. Would highly recommend even though they aren't cheap they are worth it. Disclaimer, I paid FULL price for a REAL review.

Solid product
These things look and feel bombproof. I've got them on my slash 4x4 brushless running 3s lipo packs and there is no breaking these THATS for sure. Putting them together was fun too- I like that kind of stuff. I like how it came with grease and thread lock too- nice touch.UPDATE: Even though I used the thread locker on the teeny set-screws and waited the appropriate amount of time for it to cure before use, one of them backed out and dissapeared into the grass. This occurred about a month after installation. The CVD responded by immediately disconnecting from the differential and separating. I had to buy the Rebuild Kit to get another set screw. One star removed for this reason. Perhaps a better design could be found than relying on four teeny set screws per CVD.

parts come loose
Item arrived on time and in good condition. Nothing on the seller, but the product is poorly designed. I had the lock pin fall off the axel 5 times already. Luckily I was able to find the fallen parts in the street the first 4 times, but now I no longer can locate the parts that fell off. I have used Loc-Tite and screwed the lock pin on the flat part of another pin. I understand how the item works, but my kid has been disappointment too many times. This occurred with both the font and back axel. I will be going back to using the plastic ones.. at least they are cheaper.

Highly recommended
Rock solid, but keep an eye open for the exact grub screw sizes for each and every part. Easy to lock down with metric size tools, but will strip easily when trying to remove with the same metric size tool.Use the included thread lock and don't mess with Loctite red. When assembled correctly removal for maintenance is easy so follow MIP's directions to the letter. If you lose a cross pin, just grab high strength 3/32" drill bit and your Dremel. 2 minutes of simple fabrication and you are back in business.

Slash Suspension Has Never Been Smoother
Yes, these are very precise and appear to be strong and durable. The nicest thing is the car's suspension is much smoother with the telescoping steel, compared to the constantly binding (but very capable) stock plastic.Assembly requires careful attention. (hint: ensure the screw seats on the flat portion) ......Threadlock is your friend here.A really nice set of components....A little pricey, but I'm thinking, compared to, say, the $40 oil cooler fittings I replaced recently...they really are a good value.

Last set of axles.....ever...
So impressed, these are solid steel, you could run a real car with these.Very easy to put together, directions are well illustrated and the parts are manufactured perfectly. Just be prepared, these move the weak spot, so your axles will last forever, but on 3s vxl, something else will definitely break. Ah, toys, so much fun...

Disappointed
Axle end at wheel hex hub bent on first roll over at low speed. The Pin set screws stripped on both axles on attempt to try and rebuild ends. frustrating! Returned rebuild kits( 26$ for two axle end kits) and now need another 20$ for set screw and pin rebuild kit. Scared to try and remove set screw at trans with risk of stripping. Removing these is becoming a large project. not wasting more time and $ on attempting to fix and still be bent. let down
