Michael Jordan: A Kid's Book About Not Fearing Failure So You Can Succeed and Be the G.O.A.T. (Mini Movers and Shakers)

I read this book in advance of reading it with my almost-7 year old who loooooves Space Jam. Nice, simple bio with a clear lesson about not fearing failure. I especially liked the quotes from Jordan himself which were interspersed, it's cool to hear the "lessons" in his own words. There were a few abbreviations/terms which might not be familiar to some like MVP, NBA, Air Jordans. I was surprised MJ's baseball stint wasn't mentioned, that has always stuck out to me as a cool example of trying/failing. Overall very nice book, appropriate for my seven year old and easy for him to read to me.

Mary does it again with a great book about a man with a life changing legacy . Michael Jordan is such an important icon in our world and this story teaches simply about Invincible Grit and never giving up. I also liked the fact that it also gave information about his childhood as well as teenage years and his training for showing a never ending passion to do his best. I read it to my class today at snack and they really loved it. Thank you for sharing this book with us!

As a former athlete myself, I appreciated this simple, yet impactful story narrated through the voice of Michael Jordan. It's like he's speaking to you.Great for seeing how hard work and determination can pay off down the road... but I especially liked the end. The last words in the book, as simple as it is, really resonates with me.

In our school stuido the learners can't get enough of reading books out loud to each other. The Mini Movers & Shakers books are always a huge win. Love the inspiration that comes from Michael Jordan's childhood. The reminder that someone so well known and celebrated was young just like them. That he was rejected at a young age and chose to push through and do hard work for a long time gives such opportunity for learners to put themselves in that space and choose to do the hard thing. Amazing job Mary Nhin and Yuliia Zolotova - what a team! Story and pictures that draw you in - this book is a BIG WIN!

This is a great book for kids to read and learn that if you want to do something, don't give up so easily and hard work will pay off. I thought this book was perfect for my boys who are into baseball. They go through their struggles and this book will give them the inspiration to work harder to reach their goal. I would recommend this book.

Michael Jordan is a great role model. His approach to failure as feed back to work harder led him to succeed. I especially liked the mention of how he did this in his youth. The book highlights his failures as well as his successes. He is a truly good example of a person with a "growth mindset". Thank you, Mary, for sharing his story.
