Being Smart about Gifted Education: A Guidebook for Educators and Parents (2nd Edition)

An easy read with practical, research-based suggestions for teaching gifted children
This is a very good resource for both classroom and resource teachers/learning assistance teachers to have in their collections. It is packed with excellent suggestions for fitting educational programming to the individual gifted child's learning needs. The real-world examples from the field of gifted education help one to really visualize what gifted education can look like. I especially liked the various quotes in each section from students, parents, and teachers, which give brief, poignant glimpses into people's various reactions to and assumptions about giftedness. The book is logically laid out, easy to read, and written without jargon or pomp. I highly recommend it.

Great resource for parents of gifted kids
This book is a great resource for parents of gifted kids - the book is accessible and based on research. In no time at all, I got a much better handle on how I might advocate for my daughter a bit better. I'm sure I'll use it as a resource for many years... I'm just waiting for a companion book called Getting Smart about Raising Gifted Children. Hint, hint!!

Not Helpful
No idea what the writer trying to tell her readers. Full of empty analysis. Not worthy to waste time reading it, so throw it into recycle box ...

Not very useful for parents
Not very useful for parents, perhaps more suitable for educators. Lots of suggestions and checklists but not much practical advice.
