Great book
I love it! Is so helpful and u can understand many things of diet and behavior.Only problem is a bit big and hard to have it all time with u.Should be a bit shorter.

You will "GET it"...if you LET it!
This book is authored by a personal trainer who learned about the hcg protocol, did a ton of research, observed a LOT of her clients on the protocol and documented their post-protocol maintenance and/or gains. She defends the protocol not as a diet but as hormonal therapy that results in opportunities to get hold of true lifetime maintenance. I DO want to mention that there are lots of things that "click" concerning thyroid, menopause, etc. She advocates bloodwork to identify hormonal issues, but leptin seems to be a real player in all this.Back when Simeons did his work, he didn't have access to the technology and research that we do today; he was a voice in the wilderness, basically, with revolutionary theories he didn't have the means to follow through and prove. This new book explores the connection between the protocol, leptin/fat cell behavior, and how the protocol's best value is not in the loss of "pounds and inches" but in two things: the change in the way our fat cells release leptin, and how we can use that understanding to listen to our bodies and lose the need to make our scale happy. She advocates the protocol without the daily weighing, and gives HUGELY sensible advice about when we should eat and when we shouldn't. I promise you, reading this book left me with so many "light-bulb" moments. But at the same time, it's so simple. She outlines a hunger scale with the leptin connection factored in, and it was very thought provoking because I LET it be.What I like is that the book is written in easy-to-understand style, although a couple of chapters are a bit more "science-y" for nutritionists/medical folks. AND if you can devote several hours for just a day or two, it's a fairly quick read. All in all, one of the best I have read. It made me face things about myself that I'd rather not (for example, why I looked forward to each "load" with such glee) which makes it a lot harder to go forward in my cocoon of denial while looking for the magic answer. Once I let the protocol get me to where I want to be size/health-wise, the rest has to be a perpetual reality check for me. I went into the book determined to learn, and boy, did I.

Excellent. Excellent book if you want to know how things really work...helped me get it. I totally get it now..things will never be the same again. .I am free from emotional eating burdens, believe me. Having done HCg I can attest to the premise of this book. A-mazing. Glad I read it.

very helpful
This book is awesome and helps to understand the hormonal mechanics inside the body. With that knowledge it is easy to go through the hcg protocol, to loose weight and to never gain it again.

Good book for HCG dieters and for helping to determine why you have too much fat.
Very informative book. Inspiring and helpful. Would have earned more stars for it's helpfulness but it was difficult to get through as it was too repititious at times. I did go on the diet and kept 20 pounds off so it was worth the money. Author is very clever and well informed on helping people deal with deeper weight gain issues as well as helping people ditch the unwanted fat.
