Excellent traps-easy to set, easy to empty and easy to reuse
I’ve needed to use mouse traps off and on for several years. I always use snap traps as they are quick and effective, and don’t torture the critters by gluing them to a trap to die slowly. Originally I used traditional American made wooden Victor traps - effective, inexpensive, and reusable if desired. However recent purchases have been problematic as they are now so trigger happy that they are virtually impossible to set and place without them going off. I’ve nearly given up on them. The plastic traps I bought several years ago here on Amazon are no longer available so I decided to try these. Sturdy, easy to bait and set, and I caught three mice in under 36 hours in a single trap! I did switch from peanut butter to Nutella and maybe that helped to lure them in, but I’m thrilled that they were so effective and easy to use. I was able to get a discounted warehouse item, but I do believe that they are worth about $2 apiece. I got the black and aqua ones which I believe are identical to the white and aqua ones. No one wants to deal with mice but at least these traps work!

Three mice dead, great customer service.
So, get this. The first two traps I tried wouldn't stay set, (what?) -- the third and fourth set just fine. There's a note in the package that says basically "Can't give us 5-stars, contact us first, please!". So I wrote them and just said, "Hey the first two didn't work, no problem because there are 8 total, but you asked me to write if I can't give 5 stars, which I am not planning to."• Next day, snap! one (1) mouse... I drop it in the garbage and re-set with the same peanut butter in about 30 seconds.• Following day, leave my cabin and head home.• Three more days, a package from Kat Sense with another 8 traps arrives.• Next day, I head to cabin, two (2) more mice are waiting for me in the traps. Hi mice!Summary: When they work, super easy and less sketchy than OG traps. I think the "let's allow customer service to make up for the lack of 100% success rate of the (fairly difficult to mass-produce at quality, I'm sure) hair-trigger mechanism" is a good enough strategy if they follow through with the customer service.Which they did.5-star. I'm content. An overall very good experience.LESSON LEARNED: if one doesn't work, don't stress - try the next... if enough don't work that you need more, write them and you'll get more. Now I like them.EDIT ALMOST 3 YEARS LATER:Still love these. Hold them perfectly flat/parallel to the ground and they almost always set fine. Simply a better mousetrap.

Work better than typical wooden traps, but wear out faster
These work great for catching mice in the garage or unfinished basement. The design requires the mouse to step on the trigger to get to the bait, so they seem to trigger easier and have a better rate of catching mice than the standard wooden traps. I also like that you can pick up the trap, empty it, and reset it using one hand, leaving the other hand uncontaminated. The only downside is that over time the plastic piece that slams down on the mice will break. In the course of a year, I've had most of the 8 traps I got break in that same spot. On the upside, each trap that has broken has caught multiple mice. They are easier to use and work better than the cheaper wooden traps, but they will not last as long. It just depends on what you are looking for.

Cats? Who needs cats!
After four days of my cats playing "catch and release" with a mouse and not successfully "dispatching" it, I watched the vermin run to the side of the refrigerator. I was done with their kitty games. I set one of these traps and within 45 minutes little mousey was no more. Put the trap back in the same place, and this morning mousey number two was successfully eradicated. It is getting colder, the mice are coming in. I don't really like killing them, but I don't want them in my house - and especially in my office as I am trying to work. These traps are easy to set, and easy to release the dirty rotten dead rodent once caught. I don't know how long they last, but going to set the same trap for the third time and see if I can get another one.I have tried other humane type traps, or traps where you don't see the bodies but they haven't worked as well as these babies. Give me a gold old snap trap any day. As long as my cats can't get to them and have it snap on their paws I can deal with disposing of little rodent bodies.

Gets the job done, easy to use, super reasonable
I really don't enjoy trapping mice, but as someone who has heard multiple critters scurrying around at night, it is unfortunately necessary for me. My personal opinion on traps is that they need to 1) get the job done, 2) be easy to set up with minimal room for error, and 3) kill the mouse quickly with minimal risk of torturing the mouse (which is why I don't touch glue traps). In my experience, this does all three - it's trapped mice within a couple days of setup, is thankfully easy to set up and doesn't stress me out like the old-fashioned traps, and the trapped mice have shown no signs of struggle. And $10 for a pack of six is a steal. Also, in response to the upvoted review that this trap is for sadists - I want to stress that I take no joy in this, I just want a trap that kills fast and is efficient. In my anecdotal experience I did not experience anything that reviewer described - I did have one case where I had to clean up blood but it was entirely around the trap with the caught mouse. I can only speak to my personal experience, and my personal experience is that these traps get the job done and kill the mouse quickly. If this changes I will update my review.

These are the best type to do the job!
These Traps are made of very good quality materials and they are very effective. The best price you could find and best kind of traps that actually works. I recommend them any day.

Pleased with the initial impression
Nicely made, well packed, snap closed with very slight pressure, look as if they will be very effective but final confirmation awaits a real life catch!
