Best Outdoor Wifi PTZ Camera for the Money!
You would be hard pressed to come up with an IP Camera of this caliber for even twice the price. I purchased this camera at regular price and have no affiliation with the seller just so you know I really mean what I am saying. I own all newer 4k equipment including a Dahua 4k NVR and 3 - 8mp bullet cams, 1 - 3mp ptz (Dahua cams) , 1 - indoor (Armcrest) indoor PTZ, 1 - outdoor wifi bullet 4mp (Reolink) and last but not least this FDT Outdoor PTZ. I purchased this cam because I didn't want to fork out another $500 - $600 for the Dahua equivalent which I'm sure would be a great camera, but just couldn't pass this one up. I was expecting to spend most of the day to get this new camera up and going and working with my NVR so I can use only one software application to view my cameras on my phone. To my surprise I had it up and configured within a half hour. It was so unexpectedly easy to setup. Why can't they all be so easy? I have purchased other cameras that I could not get configured at all and had to return them. I think part of the reason is they use a good chipset like Broadcom or Atheros. I have both the Reolink and this FDT about the same distance from my Access Point and the Reolink constantly distorts and picture freezes but not one problem from the FDT camera. The only real drawbacks to this camera is picture quality is not as good as my other cameras which is to be expected from a 1mp compared to 4-8mp. And my other worry is winter rolling around because this camera has no heater and the whole plastic dome spins with the camera so it could stick in one direction pretty easy. But who knows, maybe it will work just fine. I will try and update later on this winter. Best bang for you buck!!!UPDATE>>>> Nov. 11th 2016 After a little over a month of working great I came home one day to a blank screen on my NVR which was the FDT camera. After trying to reconfigure it a couple of days with no luck, I pulled it down off my garage 10ft up and reset it and connected to my router with cat5e. I got it to pull up on the FDT iphone app but no matter what I do it will not connect with my NVR which is a new Dahua NVR5208-8p-4KS2 that is 4K capable and will connect with almost any ip camera. Also I could not bring up the camera on my laptop with FDT's software either. The problems I found with camera is it keeps reverting to a static setup with a default gateway 192.168.0.1 and subnet 255.255.0.0 and http port 8080 and my setup is Default gateway 192.168.1.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0 and http port 80. When i try to change them to work with my settings it won't change. Anyways there is most definitely something wrong with the camera and now I guess I will see how waranty goes with these guys. I will update this when I know something.UPDATE>>>> Dec.1st 2016 Was contacted By FDT (Amcrest) after they saw this review page and that i was having problems with my camera. The Tech Jono was very nice and diagnosed the camera to have some issue and they would be sending out a replacement shortly. So I will update this after I receive the replacement camera to let you know how it goes. But they seem like a caring company thus far.UPDATE>>>> Dec. 10th 2016 Unfortunately I never received a replacement camera. I ended up throwing camera in the garbage!UPDATE>>>> Dec. 18th 2016 Apparently FDT had wrong contact information for me and was trying to contact me to replace the camera.I did receive a new replacement camera with newer Firmware which might have been cause of first camera flaking out. This camera is working great!

Honest evaluaton.
I've had this cam installed since late May. The plus is that it looks good and fits the space where I wanted to put it. The field of view is very good and the daytime color is great. So far it has maintained a solid wireless connection except during storms or when there is electrical interference, which is not often. It was relatively easy to setup. The disappointing: Sometimes there is strong pixilation in the picture whether live or recording. At night the infrared lights seem to reflect off of the dome creating sort of mini halos that make the details hard to decipher. I did upgrade the firmware before installation so that should not be the cause of the problems.I have a similar Foscam cam that works much better but costs more and I understand that there are some security issues with the model I have. All in all for the price I suppose I got what I paid for but I wish it worked better.11-13-2017 Update: I could not be more impressed with the customer support. Months ago they willingly exchanged the camera for a new one, which fixed the infrared reflection problem, and then months later, as a follow up to my original post, made credible suggestions about the pixilation issue, which apparently has more to do with my Blue Iris software than the camera.

Picture quality is very good, installation to network was easy
Picture quality is very good, installation to network was easy. The SD memory card is very difficult to install, which requires dissembling the camera and very difficult to reassemble. PC software is ok but leaves a lot to be desired. There is only email support and not even FAQ on FDT's web site.Overall, it is an ok camera. It's wifi connection is very solid and never drops. Connects very quickly over 3g and 4g lte, mobile data and works with very low 3g data signal. Over all, it is an ok to good camera. If I had to buy another I might do more research into other brands.
