Paired up with Hefty 30 gal drawstring bags this thing works perfectly. Just that when you set the bag in make sure it’s oriented such that the drawstring holes are centered along the side of the can (see picture). We love that we more fully use the 30 gal bags, which saves money on bags, and far less often have to take the garbage out. Don’t wait like I did, just press the button and buy it. I love my Slim Jim! We bought it because our little dog kept knocking over every other kitchen waste can we used. The little monster can't knock this over! Yea!It is a great counter height and depth, and bottom heavy enough to keep it really stable.One thing to consider is trash bag options. Since it has a 33" perimeter opening, we need to buy a pretty large trash bag.

This is a sturdy and tall kitchen trash bin. I have mostly positive things to say. This is a 23 gallon trash can and I have tried two different brands of 30 gallon trash bags. They barely fit. Near the handles there are two slits on each end to thread the trash bag through to hold in place. Too bad I haven't found a 30 gal bag that will reach and fit in the slits. Just no way to make it happen.There is also a defect in one side. No scratches as others have mentioned but there is a bulge, like a golf ball was in the mold with half of it sticking into the sides leaving a semi circle that will not go away. If it wasn't such a hassle to take to ship I would exchange it.

We needed a biin for our recycling stuff. This is thin and sits next to the cabinets easily. We also bought the slotted top with we like. Along with the "Plasticplace 20 - 30 Gallon Recycling Bags 1.2 Mil, 30"W x 36"H, Blue, 200 / case" we have a great solution at our house.We seem to generate more recycling stuff than we do refuse. Have a good sized bin and good bags is making our live easier.

Can you love a trash can? I don't know but if you can I do. The are great. We now own two blue recycling Slim Jim cans for organizing recycling plastic and aluminum as well as a black one (non recycling) for trash. Pulling the bags out of these is literally amazing. No stupid suction making it take five minutes to get the trash out. The bags come out instantly from these with very little suction. I'd buy the lids for the blue ones but they're pretty much as expensive as the cans themselves which are already rather pricey. I don't regret the purchase though. I run facilities for two church campuses and we use a lot of Rubbermaid products but this is my first experience with the Slim Jim and after using them I'm confident that if we need to purchase trash cans for the church in the future we'll be picking up a few of these.They makes life just a little bit better taking out the trash. :)

These bins are great... sturdy, compact, the "hand"les come in very "hand"y :) I do wish the recycling label (arrow thing) was printed on both sides of the container. but all in all these are the best ones I've found! I have purchased these same bins years ago (they're still holding up) and I have to say if they can take the abuse of living in a bar (indoors and out) then that should tell you something about the quality.The shipping of the 7 bins I ordered was a bit ridiculous EACH recycling bin came in it's very own box with packing paper and it's very own individual invoice!!!??? all arriving on the same truck, on the same day (sorry ups guy for taking up all the space in you truck) I'm trying to get people to recycle and I have a living room full of packaging (counterintuitive) anyway the product itself gets all the thumbs up in my book!the information that I would like to leave you with is this...after receiving all 7 of my fancy blue vented handle slim jim 23 gallon recycling bins I realized that I still needed one more (I know, ridiculous) and because I needed it quickly I decided to stop in at my local home depot even though I was expecting to pay way more than I did here on amazon... lo and behold, I'm not sure if it was a sale or what but the same exact product SAME EXACT THING 30% cheaper than what I paid. I was kicking myself all the way home.moral, don't be lazy and think that all the best prices are able to be seen online. had I just gone down the dang street I could have saved over a hundred bones...your welcome. These recycling containers are perfect space saving yet adequate storage for my recyclables. The quality of these containers is excellent and should last easily for many years. In Maine we recycle everything except trash and styrofoam, so these bins allow me to sort 5 different types of recycling in 5 feet of wall space! I really love that I found these bins and they easily hold a weeks worth of materials. I use 33 gallon trash bags that fit perfect and have enough extra to use the smart bag locks on the top of the bins. These locks are just amazingly smart ideas that I love and use everyday to secure my bags in the bins. No more bags falling into my bins anymore!

This is a good quality product. It's well made, sturdy. It's a good size which means it holds a good amount of recyclables. I'm 5'3" the can hits a little above my waist. So it's a little taller but on the narrower side so it fits in between my counter and my regular trash can. For my family of two people and two dogs it holds a weeks worth of recyclables. I like how the trash bags are held in place. So I don't have to worry about the bag sliding down. I can flip the can upside down to empty the recyclables without the bag falling out.My only complaint is more a complaint about trash cans in general. And how expensive they are. I don't believe a plastic can should cost so much. But for some reason they do. I was able to buy this can on sale for a really good price. And I'm so glad I did. I really do think it's one of the better cans out there. Although I'm not sure I'd be willing to pay full price.

I bought one of these to use as a slimline bin for plastic recycling in my kitchen.It is so useful, as it is almost as tall as the worktops, and yet nice and narrow so takes up very little space. It holds a massive volume. Takes a full size black bin liner and holds a lot more volume than a normal kitchen bin would.The method it has for holding the bin liner in place is great- very easy to use.I’m using mine without a lid as I’m only putting clean recyling into it and it’s just so easy to use in this way.Very good quality, and actually looks pretty nice too. I had been considering a stainless steel bin that would have been 4 times this price, so this is a real bargain.

Purchased the slim Jim Bin to use for collecting recycling. I purchased the lid separately. As the name suggests, its quite slim and fits neatly against the wall of my long/thin utility room, without blocking the walkway. Well made, solid construction, will probably last longer than I will.I would definitely recommend IF like me you intend to keep it hidden away in a side room. If however you are looking for a bin that sits on display in the corner of you kitchen, recommended you look for an alternative as this one is just a big ugly.Other than that, I am sure it will sere its purpose well for may years to come.

Great bin. Bags can hook in well without slipping down. Good capacity and perfect colour. Make sure you get the Rubbermaid hinged kid to go with it as it ships as just the bin. Which is fine for recycling but not as an open bin for kitchen waste.

Works well for narrow spaces, its well made and light.
