I tried my FoodSaver, a vacuum cleaner hose, and a deflator with no luck. The valves are the weak link on these bags. The does; however, seal well with a clothes iron. Overall, not bad, but I bought them for the valves to bag up this year's coffee harvest--so that's disappointing.

These bags are really nice. Heavy duty and robust. It's fun to see my wife trying to figure out how to get the zipper open too the first time she opens one, but really it works and the zipper is very functional and durable. The bag is really thick. No complaints here. Much better than bags I have used before. I live in a cold climate and have to roast enough coffee to get me through the winter months because other wise I'd have to try to drink store bought coffee. A fresh roasted rat turd is probably better than store bought coffee. Just saying.

Outside material is not really craft like other brands, it has a slicker finish.

I bought these in a pinch when I had a rush of orders. Shipping and fulfillment was very fast. I use the 16oz for coffee, and I have to say the valves/gussets on these are amazing. They release, and heat seal very good. The resealable zip breaks off really easily when opening the bag for the first time.

Great bags that take ink well. One way valve. Re-re-reuseable. These are the bags you want. Not those over there. These.
