Does anyone have information regarding "how to cure" this pan to avoid food sticking?

Although stainless steel cookware is not "nonstick", there are some things that may help lessen the "sticking" of your food to your pans when cooking. 1. Take your food out of the refrigerator and allow it to thaw before cooking.(Cold food has a tendency to stick more than food at room temperature.) 2. Always preheat your pan on low to medium for about 2 minutes before you start to cook. 3. Add oil or butter to the cookware and allow it to heat up. 4. Place your food in the pan and let it cook all the way on one side before you turn it. If you try to turn it too soon it will almost always stick. 5. Never put your pan on high or med high unless you have a pan full of cold liquid. The cool liquid will pull the heat from the pan and keep the metal in the pan cooler. 6. Turn the heat down to med low or low once you add your food to the pan. Your pan has an aluminum core that will retain the heat, so if you keep it too high your food may burn or stick. CLEANING: For hard-to-clean, stuck-on foods, soak cookware in hot, soapy water prior to washing. Hopefully, these tips will help you, when cooking with stainless steel.

What is the measurement of the base of this pan? I bought the 80116/546DS 12" fry pan. Is this the same model?

The base of the Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad 12 inch Frying Pan (Item#80116/007DS) is approximately 8.5" and made in Brazil. It is not the same model as Item#80116/546DS, as they are made from different countries and have slightly different styling in the handles.

Is there a lid for this pan?

No. This is a saute pan, and as such, does not have a lid. You can buy an after market, generic lid, or a splatter shield.

Does this fry pan have deep grooves underneath or is evenly flat and smooth surface underneath?

This Tramontina 12 inch Fry Pan (Item 80116/007DS) has a flat, smooth surface which distributes heat quickly and evenly while cooking and is excellent for use on induction, electric and ceramic glass, in addition to gas cooktops.
