Snowman: The True Story of a Champion Hardcover – August 30, 2016

Truly a beautiful true story for anyone to read, especially a young girl or boy who truly is interested in horses. I gave two books away as Christmas gifts after reading this amazing story that gives you hope and wonder in this horse who was given a chance at life through a spark of his eye that caught a young man. There are many meanings that you get out of the book that you will never forget. Snowman is a remarkable story of an amazing man who loved a very special horse.

This book had a really exciting and enjoyable plot. It is one of the best nonfiction books I’ve read and I’ve read quite a lot of them. The way the author describes the jumps in the book is very detailed and it is as if I was there in the 1950s, right next to Snowman as he jumped. Overall, it’s just a great book and child friendly. My kid read it and enjoyed it a lot, and so did I.

The true story of a beautiful horse and man amazing story. First saw documentary, fell in love with their bond and amazing story. So, I wanted to get the book. Am so very glad I did and included photos in book.

I plan to give this to my granddaughter for Christmas. She loves and has been riding horses since she was five. I wanted to read the book first and make she it was a book she would like. I loved this book and can't wait until she reads it. What a great story about an $80 horse that became world famous. A horse with a heart and the family that gave it a chance!

I actually didn't mean to buy this book, my cat happened to walk across my phone and it was a done deal. Now I am thankful he did. What truly heart warming rags to riches tale. Sometimes the plain brown wrapper hides the largest, most valuable diamond of all.

This is a bit of a sleeper. Published as a children's book as i understand it, the story concerns the fate of a man and the life he builds around horses--and Snowman himself, a non-descript, heavy, forgotten horse, by odd chance rescued right out of the slaughterer's trailer. This is a true story--the unlikely horse given a second chance by a man of mercy, and ending up a national and global jumping champion. The meaning here is so important, especially in our times: our gifts are sometimes well hidden, but with courage, mercy, hope - we may find the great things we were born to do. I'm not saying this well. The book is about hope and follow-through, and its virtue is in its meaning rather than its art. The heart of the story is a statement seldom made in our media, and we need it. Oh, we need it. God bless the man who rescued the horse, and recognized the great gift - and allowed this horse his life, and so, room for his joy.

After I read a book about Harry and Snowman, I sought out the film and this Young Adult novel. Bravo. Charming storytelling of an awesome pair!

This book simplified the story and dumbed it down - it must be a children's book, because there was not too much depth to the story and it was very short. The pictures at the end were nice, though. I wish Amazon had the book by Rutherford that this book was supposedly based on. I returned this book for a refund.

A lovely heart warming story of an exceptional horse and his bond with his rider. The bond between a horse and rider should never be underestimated. It might only come along once in a lifetime but when it does it is truly exceptional.
