Gets very cold, but does not freeze when kept in the freezer. Fabric side somewhat keep the extreme cold away from my face, but not enough. I had to use a small cloth over my eyes before putting the mask on. The mask does hold the cold for about 45 minutes and helped relieve a sinus headache I was experiencing.

I was buying another item, and there was an offer where if you spent a certain amount on the seller’s items, there was a ridiculous discount. I went to the page, and this eye mask was one of the cheapest that would push me over the minimum. I didn’t expect much, even though I had been looking for something like this before. My eyes get strained and stressed from computer screens and the always glaring Sun, as well as wind and dry air, and my favorite, allergies (to Red Tide, especially). The “cool washcloth” thing worked well for ten minutes, till it was no longer cool. I love the “peas” ice packs, but it was a crapshoot as to whether I could get it wrapped so it stayed on my eyes without freezing my eyeballs.This mask is amazing. It has a big pack of the “peas” on the outside, meaning it stays cool for a long time. But the rest of the mask is the best part. It’s so well-constructed. The straps are sturdy enough that the mask doesn’t move around, and Velcro tabs make it easy to adjust.It IS big, which is a positive thing for me, but I have a head the size of Ganymede. I don’t think it would be too big for normal humans, though.One advantage of the “peas” system is that you can easily customize the mask to fit whatever contours you want—I squeeze them around so they go down right next to my eyelids. If you were using the mask for a headache or whatever, it can be molded to fit that way as well. The best feature is the backing of the mask. It’s thick enough that you don’t get frostbite, but thin enough that you can definitely benefit from the cold. I know this is kind of an odd niche item, but it’s a very well designed and constructed one.

Feels great, straps are decent. Keep in mind this will only last 20 minutes though.For the price and quality I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

It works and is comfy. While the exceptional Amazon deliverer was leaving the package at my door, I simultaneously busted by face after tripping into my trash bin. He stopped to help me up and made sure I was ok. Past me did present me a solid, and the mask soothed my humbled face.

Kept this mask in a ziploc bag in the freezer with another gel mask. This one is taller and extends to the forehead which is why I was excited to use it in rotation with my other mask. Used it twice with no issue. Usually will put the fabric side on my forehead/eyes and then flip to the plastic side when it starts to reach room temp. Today (literally just two minutes ago) I flipped to the plastic side after wearing for a bit, pressed a little bit on the outside to contour the gel beads with my facial features, thought I felt ice falling off and pushed the bottom of the mask to encourage the ice to melt but NOPE. NOPE YALL. I felt a bunch of liquid fall out and took the mask off to see tons of blue beads all over the floor and gel on my hands from the mask. I am liiiivid y’all. Gasped out of surprise and literally dropped the mask on the ground to come write this review. My migraine and I are both mad currently. Very disappointed that this only lasted me 2.5 uses. I’m still in the return window (have not had it for long at all) so I’m going to attempt a refund if possible. Just beware that the plastic may split over the seams of the mask and then lose its cookies all over your bathroom floor.

I buy these types of masks often but have never bought one sight unseen but I took a chance on this one and I have to say I am very pleased with it...I will definitely buy again when this one needs replaced ( most last about a year) .

It was great till it cracked open, spilling gel beads everywhere. Was only a couple months old. Dollar store one lasted longer.
