This is a very basic unit with no frills attached. Not even Foot Pedal and or Clip Cords that is needed for a tattoo pen to operate. It does come with a AC power cable that's it. The unit can be powered ON without the need of constantly pressing the foot pedal by pressing on the rotary switch which also acts as voltage setting in very precise numbers.. But do not be fooled by the fact that you can use this without foot pedal. Initially you *MUST HAVE* to press on the foot pedal before engaging the automatic Always *ON* mode.Not that it matters for a tattoo pen, The voltage displayed on the LED display is off by about 2-4 volts when measured with a Digital multimeter. The unit is based on a DC-DC buck convertor using a Microchip XL2596 which is a 150 KHz fixed frequency PWM buck (step-down) DC/DC converter, capable of driving a 3A load . This is very compact unit, Switch Mode Power supply. The black color is aluminum needed to cool the XL2596 microchip voltage regulator. Actually, this is the same "Unbranded" Dragonhawk Tattoo Pen Kit's power supply.Since this does not come with any additional accessories needed to operate the unit, it is pretty much useless if you do not have the *MUST NEEDED* foot pedal and clip cord. The only real use case scenarios would be If you need a replacement unit for your dragonhawk tattoo pen this will certainly suffice that need..Rating with three stars!
