Just like breakfast in Singapore
Like most many people searching for this coconut spread, I travelled to Singapore and loved the traditional breakfast and had it everyday for a week. Unfortunately, we had some checked bag issues and our jar we intended to bring home was confiscated. Luckily, I was able to find this option on amazon for a reasonable price, as I could not find it at the international markets available to me. The flavor is spot on, and easy to spread. As many have noted, the only downside is this is a lot of kaya! We had several small sample jars from honey, and we filled them with the kaya. It has now been in the fridge for over 2 months and no issues. So basically, if you buy this just plan on repackaging into smaller air tight containers and you are good. If you don't want to do this extra step, then look for another option. I will definitely purchase again after working my way through the current supply.

One of my all time favourites
I first came across Kaya when I lived in Singapore in the 1960s. Kaya toast was one of my most favourite breakfasts with a cup of tea.

Sweet but yummy
I purchased this Kaya jam after trying it in Singapore. While it has a similar taste, it's noticeably sweeter than I remember. It comes in a large can, which I had to transfer into a Tupperware container. Overall, it's good, but I wish it were less sweet.

Disgusting, overly sweet, runny mess.
This product should not be marketed as a spread. It's more of a lumpy syrup in a can. The texture is not at all like other kaya spreads I have had, and the flavor is so sweet I can't eat it. I don't know how anyone can taste the other ingredients because of all the sugar. Once I opened the can and tilted it a little bit the product started running out like syrup. I wouldn't have minded putting it in another container for storage as others have mentioned needing to do, but in my case it just goes in the garbage. What a waste of seventeen bucks. Do not buy!

Nothing can compare to fresh Kaya Toast in Singapore but this is close...
Nothing can replace the joy of eating FRESH KAYA TOAST on a rainy morning in Singapore, with a hot cup of coffee and soft-boiled egg. BUT when you get back to the states and are really missing that magical breakfast, this actually helps fulfill that craving. Tastes pretty darned good considering it is in a can and shipped.

Not easy to store after opening
This item tasted great. However, the amount is not easy to use in a timely manner and the container is not easy to keep storage in. A resealable container would be much better. At least half of ours spoiled before being consumed.

Authentic
This reminded me of the kaya we had at the non-chain hawker stalls in Singapore. A teeny bit "lumpy" (from the cooked egg), nice coconut flavor. Less sweet than Hey Boo.
