We used this for our baby chicks and it worked great !!!

First to keep in mind, this item was $130….very fair price for this item. Honestly don’t believe it could be homemade for a whole lot less. Other reviews caused me to hesitate, but so glad I decided to take a chance on this purchase. I am 56, female, and I had no difficulty putting this together. Instructions were very clear pictures, simple construction. If you can’t build this, than you should never get anything that requires assembly. I have added some pictures, and here are some details/ tips to go with them:Photo 1) I chose to add wood glue to the 4 corner sections; I figured couldn’t hurt to add some strength and durabilityPhoto 2) just a close up of joining the corners with added gluePhoto 3) this is the inside view of the screen lid, my narrow trim piece across the center of the screening arrived detached, so I simply applied some wood glue and then hammered in some small tack nails to hold back in place. Manufacturer used very tiny staples, so they didn’t hold.Photo 4) all assembled and ready to use, tray slides in very nicely, as long as it is assembled correctly. The covered box area does not sit flush to the tray, so no need to keep trying to push it down.No missing parts, no broken parts, and yes I would buy this again. I am going to add some cabinet handles to mount on each end; this is something that would make a nice add-on by the manufacturer. I will be using mine as a brooder for baby chicks.I didn’t give it 5 stars, because it isn’t perfect, but it is quite close.

The media could not be loaded. The box worked great for baby chicks. We added a light in the one end. The box is tall enough for a 32oz jar feeder. Assemble was easy and it is sturdy. A little expensive but this was the only one that ship quickly.

I was so excited to get this, but was very disappointed as soon as I opened the box. I got slivers just from touching it, the wood peels easily. The wood was split on one of the panels from a screw the manufacturer put in. I wanted to return it right away, but I needed something for my baby chicks, so I bit the bullet and put it together. Assembly was frustrating and the pieces don’t fit together perfectly. The lids rub together, so I will need to sand down a corner on each lid so they can move independently. I even had to put one of the latches on the side because it was the only place the lid aligned with the box. It is going to work for my chicks, but I’m very frustrated that I paid as much as I did for it. Do not waste your money, keep looking!

I loved the look of this online but when I removed it from the box, there were dents in the soft, thin wood and one side is warped. The hardware that comes with it is very cheap. The smaller screws are difficult to use and two of the heads broke off when hand tightening.Since this will be used indoors only, it will work fine with some repairs that I prefer to make rather than ship it back and get another one that may be the same. I would NOT recommend this for outdoor use. Rodents will chew right through the wood in one night.

We actually used this for our 6 new chicks. It was nice to be able to remove th bottom and acclimate them outside a bit before they moved out permanently.

This habitat looks great.. however, the center support beam snapped as soon it started being used. The tray doesn't close all the way so the bedding is falling out on one side. I'm not sure happy with this, but it is too large and complicated to return, or I would. It is pretty over priced for the product you actually receive. The concept of it is great, maybe keep looking around at similar items.. just imo.
