Great product!!!!
I've bought several mattress protectors and this is the only one i like! i have a king size pillow top mattress. None of the others have fit right! They all slid off and made a lot of noise. I was a little weary at first because it's so thin I didn't know if it would hold fluid. But after my dog pissed on it several times, it did not get a drop on my mattress. And it's so easy to wash. I add two cups of ammonia to the wash when it has pee on it. That gets all that pee out. I've washed this mattress protector so many times & it still works GREAT! I LOVE THIS MATTRESS PROTECTOR and would def. recommend. In fact after buying this one i bought one for the rest of the beds in my house too. Those were size twin and fit great also. and they are not noisy at all. You can't even tell they are there until some thing happens and your thanking GOD you bought it! I wouldn't get a bed w/ out it now! My bed still looks brand new, and i'll never use a bed now unless it has one of these protector. This is also the best price out there. GREAT PRICE AMAZON.. THANKS!!!!

My Favorite Brand
I purchase this brand for all of my beds. I have tried two other cheaper version and they leaked. This one does not. It will not last a lifetime. None of them will. I pay more for these because I have really expensive mattresses and this brand was recommended by my bed dealer. Make sure that you only wash when something has leaked through the sheets. Do not wash everytime you change your sheets. Bed protectors wear fast if you wash them too much. Once removed from the washing machine, I throw it in the dryer on low heat to remove the excess water. I remove it (still wet) and air dry it over my bar stools with a fan on it. For my bed, I am on my second protector because I tried to cheat and I dried it too hot in the dryer. It melted. As long as you take extra care, this will last many years.

Exactly what I wanted for my memory foam bed!
I wanted a thin, lightweight, breathable protector. This is exactly it. I sleep on a Serta iComfort, which is memory foam. I tried two protectors before this one. We don't get sweaty, out doesn't crinkle, and the bed is just as comfortable as before. I can tell it's on the bed, but it's not annoying and doesn't affect the quality of sleep. We dont eat in bed, or wet the bed, but my 8 month old has had a diaper leak and vomited once. We took the sheets and protector off to clean right away, there was no leaking and the bed was fine. I do not dry the protector, I hang it to dry. (i owned a tempurpedic bed and protector previously, the protector was similar and melted when I followed the drying instructions). If you want a thin, barely there protector, this is it. If you want a protector that locks the mattress up like fort knox, probably not this one. This one had mesh sides (perfect for letting memory foam breath) which could allow liquid to get to the mattress if it runs off the sides, and doesn't cover the bottom.

Good for kids' beds, not for adult beds
This is the "Basic" model of the Protect-A-Bed Mattress Protector. Just make sure you know what you're getting. The "Basic" protector has a bit of a plastic feel. It correspondingly has a bit of a plastic noise when you lay on it. It's not like the cheap mattress protectors that are really load and crinkly, and I think it's fine for a child's bed. But it wouldn't be desirable on an adult bed. Protect-A-Bed also has a "Premium" Mattress Protector, offering the same protection, but with a more breathable, more plush (terry cloth-like) fabric, which is an excellent choice for adult beds. As long as you know what you're getting, this one can be a great choice, and it's worth the money versus the louder mattress covers.

NOT WATERPROOF
It is not waterproof - we've had it leak with toddler accidents twice now. So it's basically worthless, as it doesn't perform the fundamental purpose of a mattress protector. Save you money and purchase a LinenSpa one - we have a bunch of those and they work great.

A simple yet very effective mattress protector
I have purchased two of these mattress protectors and they have worked flawlessly. Its a simple plastic material with a soft white cloth on the top of the plastic. The corners are made of a stretchy elastic material that will tightly fit on your appropriately sized mattress. If your looking for a inexpensive item to protect your mattress that you may have justbought or looking to keep your existing one from any accidents this will do the trick. The only thing I can think that could be slightly annoying is that because this is partly of plastic it will make a slight rustle noisewhen you move around on the bed. Could be a deal breaker for some who want that complete silence.Otherwise do not hesistate to purchase this for any of your beds you might need some protection on.

Not ideal for adult beds, but it works as designed

OUR CURRENT PROTECT-A-BED FELL APART,,, AFTER 14 YEARS SO WE PURCHASE A NEW ONE!
We purchased the Protect-A-Bed brand because the one we were using the sheet plastic coating was starting to split & crumble, however, you should know my wife & I have been "Tumbling" on it for 14 years. Nothing last forever so my expectations for this product are quit high. However, I cannot speak as to its ability to repel copious amounts of liquid for it was never used within that type of situation).+++A lot can happen to the evolution of a manufacturer (or distributor) in 14 years so I can only hope the original quality is still within its infrastructure. Keep an eye out for my next review 14 years from now. ;->
