Perfect for fitting Nikon lenses on my Sony Nex-7
I bought the small Sony Nex-7 because I was tired of hauling my Nikon around. But I wanted to keep a couple of my specialty Nikon lenses, even tho they look monstrous attached to the Sony. This lens adapter works flawlessly, once I figured out how to remove the lens from it (slide the nurled nob back and forth, don't press it in). The camera electronics are not going to come thru the adapter (auto focus, aperture control, etc.)to the lens, but that is of little import because I use my Nikon lenses for landscape work, where manual focus and aperture is easy. The "red line" Sony manual focus assist does come through (be sure to enable the "release w/o lens" function in your "settings" menu, so that your non-Sony lens will be functional). A soldily built accessory, good value for the money.

Disappointed! But quickly corrected.
Works fine as an adapter but the unit received did not include a "built-in tripod mount" as specified in the description and as shown in the pictures. Having a tripod mount was the reason I had selected it to handle long telephotos. I was planning to use Loctite to secure the screws holding the mount since several have complained that these easily become loose.Edited comment on July 7th, 2013:I contacted Fotodiox, expressing my disappointment. The response was immediate, offering to replace with a different unit that did include a tripod mount. This unit has now been received and includes a mount that is permanently and strongly attached, not using two small screws as in other similar adapters. I have returned the other one. If you are ordering this adapter while having the tripod mount feature in mind I suggest you contact Fotodiox through their web site in order to check actual availability. I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars.

It works great, quality seems great, releases easy
I want to say I like the adapter, it looks great, mounted nicely to my Nikon lens and my Sony A6000. You do have to change the mode on the Camera since new cameras know what lens they have attached (computers at so smart) It works well and fits right so far, no image issues that I can tell. And it releases very easy (I was worried because of reviews) I believe that people are pushing or pulling the release, when in fact you pivot it back toward the camera to release.

5 stars for the price.
I just picked this up for the Sony A7RII so I could use my Nikon lenses. If you're thinking of doing the same. Here's what you should consider.1. This obviously does not allow autofocus. A great deal of the cameras features are disabled when in manual focus mode.2. Do your lenses have aperture control rings on the outside? If yes, then you're good. If no... then consider this. My Tokina 11-16 mm lens did NOT have an aperture control ring. When it's taken off the camera body, the aperture closes down to whatever the minimum is (f22) or something. In order to use this lens with this adapter... I have to jam a piece of trash in the lever to keep it from closing down. In retrospect, I probably should have gotten an adapter with an aperture control ring, some of which are only like 20 dollars more.Build is solid. I don't feel any loosening. The release mechanism is a bit awkward, but it'll do. I thus far have not noticed any issues with the images or focus. For the price, this get's 5 stars because it simply works.

Not bad for the price.
I bought this adapter along with the Fotodiox adapter for minolta lenses for use with my NEX-5N. The adapter is well made and works. You can remove the tripod mount if you wanted to by unscrewing the two screws that attaches it to the adapter. I would rate it higher but there is some movement between the Nikon lens I attached and the adapter. It doesn't move a whole lot but is kind of annoying. There isn't any play between the NEX and the adapter though. A side note, the Minolta adapter to nex adapter I bought from Fotodiox doesn't have any play.

Simply Effective
A simple, no frills adapter that does what it is designed to do. I’ve used it with both a 50mm f2 AI and 200mm f4 AI-S with results that show the lenses were both in perfect alignment with the Sony mount, and incidentally verifying that both rather vintage lenses are in fact excellent performers.

Doesn’t work at all.
Absolute garbage! Do not buy! It fits the lenses that it’s supposed to but the image quality is less than the first Nokia camera phone. Doesn’t work how it should. Unfortunately you will have to spend quite a bit more if you’re looking for a real conversion. But do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money on this in the process.

You get what you pay for
At $20 and some good reviews, I thought I had found a deal. Hope has died. Infinity focus is off, tripod mount is loose and since removed as it blocks the camera's tripod mount and my bigger lenses have their own. I don't notice a lot of wobbliness, but I shoot in a studio and the tripod mount would flex under the weight of a medium sized lens. Does its job with some fudging, but I'll pay more to not have to fudge.
