NEC 2005 Handbook: NFPA 70: National Electric Code; International Electrical Code Series Tenth Edition

I bought this book because I am studying to be an electrician. I like it considerably more than the paperback version it is far easier to find section headings and sub-headings when you are looking for something. The paper is strong and glossy-white (as opposed to gray and flimsy in the paperback) and headings are in bold type and indented.That may not sound like much, but it is many times easier to read this version than the paperback version I was supplied to by my school.The book also features notes about many revisions to the Code from the 2002 edition as well as numerous examples, illustrations, and diagrams of different regulations.The book is very well constructed, albeit, rather large at 1300+ pages. If you need to buy a code book, this one will last a lot longer than the paperback one!

The wording of the NEC can be hard to understand sometimes. I wanted a book that gave explanation to the "rules" in the NEC, but did not want to pay the $100+ for the current level (2014) handbook. So I bought this older book to see what I could learn from it. I have not reviewed much of this book yet, but will refer to it when a question about the electric code comes up related to the volunteer work I do for Habitat for Humanity.

I really thought that I had no choice but to buy from a book store and this book was around $ 135.00. I was able to buy the regular 2005 NEC book and this 2005 NEC Handbook on Amazon for the same price.. But be sure you look at the condition of the books because if it has writing in it You can not use for the test references just as a work reference.

this is everything i would ask for in a code book. it has details and is very comprehensive. this code book is great for keeping everything up to code.in reality sometimes compromises need to be make for pratical sake, electical inspectors i've dealt with understand that too. sure follow the book to perfectlly in a test exam but in real life something are not going to be happening.

This handbook made the NEC more interesting to read. It thoroughly explains most of the vague notes written in the standard NEC book. It does so with examples, actual applications through colored illustrations. Since I'd like to get the most bang out of my buck, I'll consider buying the handbook every other revision.

The cost was next to nothing and the quality is excellent, almost like new. A terrific buy,I'm very pleased. I expect to get years of use.
