Perfect for My Fiber Laser Setup
I recently added the VIVOSUN 6 Inch Inline Duct Fan to my fiber laser setup, and it has made a noticeable difference in my ventilation system. With an impressive airflow of 440 CFM, this fan effectively keeps the air circulating, ensuring that any fumes or dust generated during operation are efficiently removed from my workspace. The adjustable speed controller is a fantastic feature, allowing me to set the fan to the perfect airflow level for my needs. Plus, the fan operates quietly at just 50 dB, which is a huge improvement over my previous setup. I can focus on my projects without being distracted by loud fan noise.Installation was a breeze thanks to the included mounting bracket, making it easy to hang and position the fan exactly where I needed it. Overall, I’m thrilled with this fan—it’s performed exactly as expected and has greatly enhanced my fiber laser experience!

Well built and great company service
Fantastic unit. I'm adapted to a need for which it wasn't intended. I purchased many Vivosun products and the quality and the value are wonderful. The customer service is also tremendous!

Overall it's been running fine for a month or so
This is my first high CFM fan. Overall it's been running fine for a month or so. Variable speeds are nice, although really it's a 3 speed fan essentially. It was adequate for my needs on the lowest speed, it does move a lot of air.I gave it four stars because IMO it's fairly loud. I had originally hoped to mount the fan in between the 2"x10" beams in my basement. Unfortunately the spot which was most convenient was directly under my kitchen floor. I tried to muffle the noise by using the box as an enclosure and wadding newspapers into the corners but this only resulted in a mild improvement. The noise drove me nuts I could actually hear it in all parts of my home. So I eventually had to move the fan to a less convenient spot, sitting on the basement floor. Now I can only hear it when I'm in the basement. That being said I do have excellent hearing and I know I wasn't using the fan in quite the manner it was intended. Just be aware that it is a bit loud similar to an old fridge constantly running. Also I can't really figure out how the mounting bracket is supposed to work. It's seemingly designed so that you could remove the fan from the bracket leaving the bracket fixed. But the design doesn't actually allow for this as the bolts holding the fan to the bracket are inaccessible when the bracket is mounted to a flat surface. Hope this makes sense.Overall good fan for a good price.

Great for laser cutter fume extraction (6" model)
I bought this to replace the HVAC booster fans I had on my filter box for the exhaust on my laser cutter. This thing literally blows away the stuff you can buy at your local hardware store. Some of the earlier reviews are true that this thing foes leak some air out of the seams and near the screw holes. But like any vent system there will be leaks at the seams unless you tape them with foil tape. (you can pick it up at any hardware store near the ductwork supplies)It is a little noisy at full speed, but not like vacuum cleaner or shop vac loud. Probably comparable to the volume of a clothes dryer at most. At the outside duct there is almost no sound at all. I did pick up a variable speed controller for it at my local hardware store that is meant for things like grinders and it works perfectly with this.Prior to installing this my work area would have a slight haze in the air from whatever I happened to be cutting or engraving. But with this fan pulling air out of a filter box containing 2 standard particulate filters, plus an activated charcoal hepa filter, this is no longer a problem. My previous fan setup didn't have enough oomph to extract everything outside. I can cut thick plywood with no smoke lingering around. Polyethylene no longer makes my work area smell like someone melted every candle in existence, and acrylic and other sheet plastics no longer leave things smelling like vaporized plastic. This was probably one of the best upgrades I could have purchased for my setup.

8-inch version running 1 year no issues
Been running a full year, nonstop, at about medium speed, zero problems. I have done no maintenance. It moves a lot of air. It's kind of loud, but I can't compare loudness to other fans of the same size. When it was in my living room it was too loud. It's in my bedroom now not far from my bed and that doesn't bother me.I am mining in a grow tent in a small 1br apartment and this ventilation solution has allowed me to max out my apartment electrical grid and keep quite an oversized (for my living situation) mining operation going. I have a smaller intake fan by the same brand, a different model, and with the two fans I circulate the outside air through my tent (both intake and exhaust tubes hang out the window), so that it does not affect the air pressure in my apartment. It was really drafty when I was either sucking air in, or blowing it out. I thought I was getting the Korean Fan Death, my mouth would be soooooooo dried out every morning because my bedroom had like low air pressure. So keep in mind if you are exhausting hot air outdoors, that creates an air pressure gradient with other impacts.I built an audio dampening box out of foam and wood to enclose the tent with the fan in it, and it helped, but was only maybe necessary. Hope this helps!
