Great pruning tool but batteries drain quickly.
Great pruning tool except the batteries are drained after 30-45 minutes use. Have cut green limbs up to 1" diameter easily. Will not cut dead limbs this thick and can get stuck in the wood. Sometimes a second pull of the trigger will complete the cut. No instructions were in the box when it was received but information included in ratings from other buyers was very helpful. It is well made but needs both batteries for larger pruning jobs. The user should remove the battery when cleaning and oiling the blades and be careful to keep fingers away from limbs being pruned. It is powerful. I recommend it although I would prefer it had larger capacity batteries.

Strongly recommend adults use only. You don't want your kid losing his or her fingers.
I don't regret buying this item.Does the job well and it even cut some good size branches.

THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!!!
I had never heard of battery operated pruners until I saw this. I hesitated between several brands available and eventually selected these based on price and the pretty blue color (no judging).I can't even express properly, into words, how this seemingly simple little tool changed yard clean up for me.My neighbors have these non-native Suriname cherry hedges that they never cut or trim. For 6 years I thought they were mine until I discovered by trimming the whole hedge vertically that they sat behind my property line, so I don't do it anymore. I only clean up what comes through the chain link fence to my side and that's a lot because it grows exponentially through the summer.I used the pruner to clean up 25 feet X 4 feet of overgrown branches. It took less than one hour. I have a tennis elbow on my left arm so cutting manually was impossible and I just can't pay to get it done.I was able to switch from my left hand to my right hand (usually useless but with this it's just pressing the trigger so it works).A single battery charge lasted through the whole thing and there was still enough charge to trim an overgrown sweet almond bush down. It's effortless. The blades cut branches up to 3/4 inch in one shot. It even cut a few metal links by accident because I didn't see them. It did the job so well that I ended up cutting a lot more than I intended when starting the job because it took so little time. I did the job of what would have normally taken me several weekend in 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon.WARNING: THIS TOOL WILL CUT STRAIGHT THROUGH FINGERS AND BONES. Keep your fingers away from the blades at all times - one hand holding the tool, the other hand by your side, nowhere near the pruning shears. There is no reason to have the blades anywhere near your extremities. Keep pets inside while working with this. I cannot emphasize this enough. While holding it and not using, if you hold the trigger for about 4 seconds. The blade will close and cannot be started again until the trigger is pulled twice in succession. Be safe, not sorry.

A bit scary and it works great
This cordless electric pruner makes quick and easy work of pruning light stuff. The instructions say to cut no more than 25mm thick green branches (which is about 1 inch) or 20mm thick dry (which is about 3/4 inch). It's powerful and the cutting action is smooth. It's kind of scary though. There's no guard for the blades (I don't know how one could be designed). The blades reopen quickly when you release the trigger, but still read and follow all the safety instructions! But man, it works great. It comes with two batteries an a charger. And the charger is one of only a few minor complaints I have. There's no built-in battery protection against overcharging. The instructions caution against leaving the battery in the charger for more than five hours. It's a little heavy. But that suggests the build quality is really good. That would be great, because I'd like to get a few years of service out of it.The other minor complaint is the instructions aren't translated all that well, but I could make them out okay. It took a minute to understand that the instructions call the trigger the "button" in one place---after I looked for the "button" and couldn't find one. After attaching the battery and turning the pruner on, you pull the trigger twice to open the blade. Then pull the trigger to cut. Hold the trigger for two seconds to close the blades and stay closed. Repeat the two trigger pulls to reopen them. To adjust the size of the blade opening, hold the trigger for five seconds instead of just two. When you pull the trigger twice, it will then open to a smaller size blade opening. To switch back to the large, hold the trigger two seconds, then twice to reopen. It comes with two batteries, a charger, a tube of oil, a couple of maintenance tools, and instructions. The instructions advise keeping the blades clean and oiled, and to not use any water based cleaners that might cause rust. I think wiping the blade off with a little petroleum-based solvent like naptha or mineral spirits followed with some light oil is the way to go.

Almost perfect
This is a battery powered pruning sheer that once it starts working, works great. It's problem is that it is not intuitive to use. The button to power on is tiny and difficult to push, but then all it does it set up a complicated system to unlock the trigger. Sometimes you have to hold the trigger 5 seconds to get it to do things, other times 2 seconds to get it to do other things. Not the easiest or best when all you want to do it prune. And that it does very well. So if you can put up with the crazy way in which to operate it, then it works well.
