Good little magnet set
Wasn't quite sure what I'd get for the price. The magnets are small but work well and were perfect for online school science.

dollar store quality - save you cash
I bought this for my grandson - what a scam - this product has the appearance of old style steal magnets but in fact they are cheap hollow plastic shells with small weak magnetic rods inside the plastic. Each so called "magnet" is extremely light weight but they are so weak that they barely support the weight of the magnet. This is the kind of junk toy you'd expect to find in dollar store.

Tiny little magnets encased in magnet-shaped plastic.
At first glance, you might think you were getting a whole collection of great bar/horseshoe/disc magnets at a great price. You'd ALMOST be right. What you actually get are plastic toys SHAPED like bar/horseshoe/disc magnets, with tiny magnets hidden in the ends. That being said, mine did work. There was one shape that obviously had it's interior magnet placed incorrectly, but all the rest of the set worked fine. The little magnets inside were aligned correctly to have the North and South poles work as you would expect (pushing and pulling other magnets correctly). The one drawback: we wanted to do an experiment with iron filings to see the shape of the magnetic field of a magnet. Instead of having a big shape from a big magnet, the filings gathered in little shapes at the ends. It did make it a little hard to explain to younger kids that the "real" magnets were inside the ends. Also note, the interior magnets are very small (about 1 cm), fairly strong (to work through the plastic), and held in place in some cases by small metal ball bearings. If the plastic cases were damaged, you could have a very dangerous situation for younger children (a la Polly Pocket and perforated intestines of a few years ago). Adult supervision required, indeed.

Works just fine for school
I used these for magnet stations for my 2nd grade class. They worked just fine, exactly as I needed them to. In one station they attracted random household objects, another was seeing if they could attract a paperclip through a variety of materials, we also tried lining up the poles to attract or repel, seeing how many paperclips it could hold in a chain, and turning a paperclip into a compass on some styrofoam in water. It worked perfectly for all of these scenarios and the package size allowed me to put 2 magnets at each station.

magnet set
This set had a nice variety of magnets, though the magnets themselves are smaller than I thought they would be. Not a bad set for the money. Have not open as they are a gift for my niece. Hope they work well.

A great variety at a great value
Great value had a variety of magnets in order to be able to do different experiments. Poles labeled and color coded for easy recognition. Great to use in class or virtually.

Don’t waste money
The magnets are very week or not magnetic at all some won’t even pick up a paper clip. Got these for a second grade class and wish I hadn’t don’t buy these. Very week and not worth the money since they are plastic coated

Well made starter magnets for kids
Show me a kid who isn't fascinated with magnets (or a grown-up, for that matter!) This is a great beginner set that will certainly spark the imagination of the younger kids and introduce them to fun with magnets!
