Dometic 3311578.001 1-7/8 Diameter Knob Adjuster with 1-1/4 Stud Assembly

I suggest checking the part number on your Dometic Awning. Our user manual lists four models: A&E 8500,Grand Pavilion, 9000 & 9500. Dometic 3311578.001 is the correct part number for the model we have - I have no idea which one of the aforementioned four it is. It is not clearly marked anywhere on the awning. The square nut fits the channel perfectly but is a bit tricky to install. It is practically impossible without some special tool I don't have. The nut has to be held in place while the knob adjuster is screwed into it. The nut flips over and slides down the channel because it is difficult to hold it in place and screw the knob in. We found that by tying a thread through the hole in the nut and pulling it up the channel until it aligns with the hole in the channel and then having someone press against the nut with a screwdriver or flat edged tool that will fit inside the channel and hold the nut in place the knob can be securely screwed in. The the thread was simply broken off and did not interfere with the threads on the knob. The fit for both the knob and nut is perfect. We don't have to use duct tape anymore to secure our awning for travel mode. It is secure and works as if it were new. I recommend this product as an excellent replacement part.

This knob and nut kit was exactly what I needed for my Dometic AE 8500 awning. The original nut on my AE 8500 was hexagon shape (6 sided) and this kit comes with a square nut. The square nut works perfectly.The reason I needed to replace the original was that the 1/4 20 bolt and nut became fused together due to rust and nearly 30 years of use. I had to cut the original bolt with a sawzall and replace it with this kit.

I lost one of these on my camper. Found this replacement and it was an easy fix. Product fit perfect. Definitely would recommend.Update - 5 months in and still a GREAT product

The awning on our Coleman camper broke and we lost this part and the awning roller failed. The company that made the parts sold out to another company but it appears that company didn’t continue to manufacture the parts. This part worked flawlessly and with a little engineering we were able to reuse the arms with a new Liepert awning setup. Back in business!

A little tricky to install with only one person doing it. Once I figured it out the install went good. Two people would make it a lot easier.
