Perfect Pet Tech for Dog Nuts!!
LOVE PetChatz! I work full time, travel quite a lot, and would prefer to spend all of my time with my dogs. When on travel, I would arrange time with my hubby so I could video chat with my dogs - not joking!! Insert PetChatz. Now I can check in on my pups any time I want. I can just peek in on them or interact with them since the unit has a silent mode or a chat mode. The tech works like a champ and was very easy to set up. The PetChatz support web page gives you tips on setting up if you need it, and it's very thorough. Now let's talk about the customer service! After purchase, Danielle at PetChatz emailed me to see how it was working, if I needed any tips, and what I thought. BIG shout out to Danielle! I was already thrilled with the unit, but even more with the team at PetChatz. It's not often that you get personal service like this. The PetChatz team gets that this product is tailor made for crazy dog people (cat people too I'm sure....but I'm a certified dog nut). Danielle shared a video with me showing how her dog uses the Paw Call accessory (which I also purchased but haven't set up yet), and now I can't wait to set it up. Now onto the treats! I have three fairly picky dogs, and they love the PetChatz treats! Seriously, I have bags of dog treats that they could care less about, but they dig these treats. In my opinion, it's much better than a one way camera. Pet parents will need to work with their babies to get them used to the unit, but it's like any other training. And the PetChatz team wants to help you integrate the tech into your home, so they give you tips on how to work with your pets. Again, customer service makes a huge difference in experience, and the PetChatz team hits it out of the park. All in all, PetChatz is pretty awesome, and perfect for anyone considering interactive pet tech. I'm including screen shots from vids I took through the app. LOVE it!!!

Priceless if you love your pet.
I doesn't take but a day after you leave your dog for him to figure it out. we got it 2 days before we left for Vegas. I installed it in the living room just across the room facing the corner of the couch he lays on. When you first pop on its silent. He doesn't hear you. You can just check on him and watch him. We several times just did that just to make us feel better. When you hit the chat button it plays the chime. He leaps up and runs to the box. He is a register service dog and he travels with us to 90% of our travel. The Las Vegas Strip is not a good place to take a pet. very little grass and taking him out of the country is a headache. The treats are great! He loves them and they make you feel less guilty leaving him. Just teach your dog sitter how to refill the unit. The screen on your mobile device shows you if your getting low. I read the questions people ask. I was always told dogs are color blind. People ask can the dog really see you. I know mine can see us. mine also watches T.V. For people asking can your dog really see you? I'll share this. When we are gone we shop for him new toys and cloths. We don't even have to say a word just show him a new toy in the screen and he starts his dancing and excitement just like he does when you pull a new toy out of a bag. You don't even have to squeak it.The box has a feature that you can set the sensitivity on it for load crashes or loud noise. "him barking or a lamp knocked of a table" When it goes off it records for a bit. If it gets quiet it stops. Then it sends that to your phone to watch. It allowed us to know how many people was at our front door. I recommend you turn that down to about the middle. Our dog figured out day 2 that id he went up and licked the box it would notify us. It worked because the video would come in and we would go check in on him and he would be standing in front of the box waiting and yes we gave him the treat so he abused that trick. We only had 2 days to install it and get him trained so we didn't buy the dog pawl you mount on the floor for him to call you. We planned to when we returned. Knowing what we know now we will pass on that. I think he would lay on the call button. If you love your dog and hate leaving him at home this is a must own. I did notice that it would mount to a kennel cage if you wanted to. If your dog goes to a kennel and they have Wi-Fi you could put it on it. My guess is the kennel wouldn't like you seeing. If its a good Kennel and they keep the place clean and they walk the dog regular than they shouldn't object. Hope this helped someone that wasn't sure on this product.

It's a nice camera and you're able to communicate with your pet ...
It's a nice camera and you're able to communicate with your pet but there were some things that Made me regret a little bit my purchase. First, connectivity... It just works if your wifi in the phone is really good. Every time I tried to connect with the regular Sprint connexion, it wouldn't establish the communication. So, I'm going to leave the benefit of the doubt... Maybe my phone company is to blame instead of this product, but sometimes I wanted to check on my cat while on the road and I had to stay until we get to the hotel. This inconvenience aside, it was nice to see my cat around and talk to her and hear her back (even though I'm not sure how well she saw us because it's such a tiny screen). This is the second complaint. The size of the screen is so little that I'm not sure if she can see us. And since th whole thing is big, I don't understand why they couldn't create a bigger screen.Third: the size if the usb cable was ridiculously small and I had to spend more money to buy a bigger cable which pissed me off. These are the main complaints... Don't take me wrong, it's a good machine and gave me peace if mind when I was away but for this amount of money they could add more perks like rotating view and maybe changing the design of the machine since it's pretty bulky. I know it's big because of the treat dispenser (which is a nice idea but the treat that came with it didn't work for my cat.. maybe it's a better fit for dogs) and because of the calming smell dispenser (which was a joke in my opinion.. a piece of paper in which you drop oil and it will supposedly calm your pet). Anyway, these are the pros and cons, hope it will help you in your decision.
