I bought 3, two others as gifts, and mine worked perfectly for me to watch a movie on my phone on a plane. At home I tested my iPad on it and it would have held that, too, which is much heavier. It bends like those old "Gumby" toys and can be reshaped. It can be flattened back out so can it be slipped into backpack or carry on, nothing can break. Great, simple product. (I did not try any of the other way to use it as per all their pictures.)
