The HP 17 inch Laptop 11th Generation lives up to it's promises and more!
My son has had this laptop since November and has no complaints. He uses on his job, at home, plays video games and watches movies. Great laptop.

BEWARE of False Advertising -- Runs Windows 11!
I specifically ordered this computer for my 84 year old father, because his Windows 10 laptop was dying and it said it came with Windows 10. However, it came with Windows 11! At 84, my father really didn't want to learn a new operating system, and we were unable to transfer his Office 2013 license, because it doesn't work on Windows 11 (but it would have worked on Windows 10). That was an extra $250 ($220 on Amazon) cost that was unexpected! Wish I had returned it while I still could. The Windows 11 user interface is worse than Windows 10 -- it takes at least one extra click to do many common actions, such as using the start menu to look at and select an application to run. Windows 11 also gives you less control of your environment. Outside of the operating system, the computer seems well built and has a decent battery life.

Screen cracked within a week
I work in IT and figured the specs met the minimum requirements for web browsing and casual gaming. I also had extra laptop RAM that would let me upgrade it out of the box. And I bought this with an AWD 25% off code, making it $470 after taxes. But it was a poor choice.First, you cannot upgrade this. After trying for over an hour, even though it was pulling apart on all other sides, the two bottom corners would absolutely not come undone. These must be screwed or molded together without an exposed method of disassembly. Disappointed, since the 8GB did not seem like 8GB at all.Second, the base CPU clocking is terrible. 1.6Ghz meant that CPU utilization was at 100% if I had Google Chrome and two other programs open at once. It froze multiple times on me within the week I owned it. Abysmal performance for an 11th gen i5 chip.Third, this laptop is loaded with bloatware. I had to uninstall 12 programs out of the box. All of those programs would normally compete for the limited resources on this thing, meaning that my second point would've happened MORE often if I had left them installed.Fourth, the fan noise is loud. I don't think that the reason it's loud is because I bought it used, but rather that the case design and thermal dispersion cause it to run loud during normal use. Wasn't a fan of that.Fifth, and the most important: The internal IPS display cracked after my headphones fell on it from about 2 feet up. Headphones. The WHOLE SCREEN is now broken, and all I see is white with different colored streaks and the spider web fracture. It can't be used as a laptop anymore.I owned this for a week. Had to hard restart it several times because the CPU was throttled and nothing responded. The whirring of the fans was loud. And the screen CRACKED, making it inoperable. It's such a shame that HP has gone down in quality over the years. I bought a laptop with a $400 MSRP from them in 2016, and it ran close to the same as this one. Screen is still intact, too.

I love my new laptop!!!!
I am so in love with this laptop. I wanted a clear and bright monitor. Got it. I wanted a larger screen, got it.I wanted a keyboard that I could fly on, got it. It has a separate numbers area on the keyboard to the right. it's practical for me. Great feature. It has a backlit keyboard. Another plus.I don't know about the fingerprint reader because I haven't used it, but if it's anything like the rest of this baby, it's got to be good. I am please beyond what I expected. THANK YOU, HP.

Disappointed!
Thought HP would have produced a better quality product. The only thing worse than the unit is the pathetic excuse for customer support!
