STILL GREAT IN 2020 PERFECT for those without wifi! I'd give it TEN stars if I could--GREAT and EASY
I purchased TWO of these systems--one for my house and one for my parents' house. It's not important for me to check my cameras from my phone or device, so I did nothing with the ethernet cables. I simply mounted the cameras, ran the wires down the corner pieces of the vinyl siding, and into the house where each plugged into a regular AC wall outlet. Then I found a suitable place for the "base"/monitor and plugged it in to a wall outlet. All four cameras paired with no problem and the system is easy and intuitive to use. The night vision is impressive and the clarity overall (both day and night) is surprisingly good. At first, I thought I would dislike the white color (they don't make the cameras in black), but to my surprise the white color blends well with the house eaves and are "just conspicuous enough" so that people notice them but they aren't really obvious add-ons. *** One suggestion: if you are going to run the wires mostly externally on the house until you can feed them through a window, I'd suggest purchasing the camera wire extensions that Crystal Vision sells. I had no need for the wifi signal enhancer, though...the cameras seem to pair just fine in a "regularly sized" house. The systems solved TWO problems already: FIRST: one house has no internet, so a conventional security camera system wasn't possible. This system creates its own wifi signal so it's perfect for places with no internet.SECOND: two neighbors had cars broken into and I was able to find the thieves on my cameras once he gave me a suspected time range. I easily made him a copy on a USB drive and gave it to him to include in the police report.I would not hesistate to buy this system if you want something easy to use and capable.EDITED JUNE 20, 2020: BOTH SYSTEMS STILL GOING STRONG!!!!I have two of the older 4-channel systems and they're both fine. I had one camera get water in it and it was in warranty and Crystal Vision sent me another and emailed me instructions on pairing it. That was at least a year and a half ago. I find them very responsive and helpful via ticket system on their website. I've never tried to phone them. I am now considering adding the 8 channel system with audio cameras. In my opinion, this is easy and substantial for the money. It's already paid for itself time and time again and I can easily back up footage via usb drive and share with police and/or neighbors. STILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I cannot recommend this product
I cannot recommend this product, that I recently purchased, due to couple of serious deficiencies: The only available online viewing software, “IP Pro” is a disaster. I could not get the app to launch on my Samsung tablet, despite several reloading attempts. I’m not the only one, Just read the scorching reviews of the app on Google Play Store. The other major fail is their “Air Bridge” that is supposed to improve Wi Fi range. It works fine for a few days and then the piggy backed cameras drop off. The huge headache is that there is no way to undo the “Air Bridge” set up. I had to dismount the camera from a 12’ lamp post and do a “match code” function with the camera connected to the receiver with an Ethernet cord. After climbing the ladder 3 times to restore the connection, I gave up on this feature. The product maybe be OK for users who don't need online viewing or the "air bridge" feature. Worth the money! Detailed review after three months.
After extensive research, I landed on this system. It has since met and then exceeded my expectations!Right out of the box, figuring out what is what and connecting the system is a breeze. Connect to your wifi, plug cameras into power outlets, ethernet cables into your modem and voila, you're up and running. That's the easy part. The hard part, depending on the size of your house and/or accessibility on the outside is actually mounting and securing the cameras on the house. On my two story house I needed a ladder, drill/screw gun, siding removal tool and that's basically it. All of the hardware is included in your purchase. I mounted the cameras right to the house, removed the siding to run the wires, drilled access holes through the electrical outlets for the power plugs and then sealed everything up and reinstalled siding. All in all, from opening box to 100% up and running, one Saturday afternoon with basic tools and five minutes on youtube to learn proper siding removal. This system works flawlessly. I actually bought two units so I have eight cameras up and running on wifi without affecting my laptops, cellphones ect. These cameras are tough. We have been through several stormy/snowy/blistering cold periods and the cameras work as they did day one.The picture is clear and bright, day or night. The app works amazing and I can view my cameras at any time, anywhere in a matter of seconds. The memory is great. I run the two systems on continuous record 24/7 and can access files from over a month ago. Playback on the system or app is super easy. The auto erase of old footage is a great option so you never run out of space. The monitors that are attached to the DVR units make it super simple to glance at any moment and see what the cameras see. I also have the DVrs plugged via HDMI into my tv so I can quickly get a bigger picture if need be.Honestly, I'm probably forgetting more perks but for the price, reliability, quality materials and easy to follow instructions with basic tools, this system is a no brainer. I have yet to find a single flaw. If you're in the market racking your head, look no further. I am very satisfied and would recomend this system without hesitation.
