Unless you have to take a large amount of a powdered supplement, such as when needing to build a nutrient level back up, I would recommend getting the 0, or the 00, size (at the moment I need this size capsule because my blood levels of calcium are WAY low). The 000 is a bit of a "throatful", but I still had no problem swallowing them. For the last few months the tablet form I had to take has been out of stock, but then I remembered back when I was growing up and my Mom having to make up capsules because the doctor said she needed to take sodium bicarbonate, and it was not even available in a medication form at that point, so she had to fill capsules with baking soda!

I ordered these 000 empty gelatin caps to put my dog’s pills in. I have to put 1.5 pills in one capsule. Each pill is cut in half and is the size of a standard size Bayer aspirin before being cut. I have enough room to put 5 halves in the capsule. So I could have ordered smaller. But this works just fine. I wrap the capsule in liverwurst and down it goes. Each gelcap is easy to fill and snap together. Liverwurst is a treat since my dog is suffering from a painful ailment. Usually she gets a peanut butter pill pocket that I make. Here is my home made doggy pill pocket recipe: Two spoons Costco organic peanut butter Two spoons organic coconut flour Six spoons water *I use the larger spoon in my drawer that I call a soup spoon. Whatever you use does not matter, as the measurements are not exact. When you stir them together you are aiming for a play dough texture. Shape into balls in the size you need. Put in container or bag and refrigerate. I like to freeze most of them and keep several day’s worth in the fridge so they don’t mold.
