went by reviews & chart, but no. def size up. long detailed review of different sizes below: 2X & 5X
So, I bought this in a 2x because I am a U.S womens 1x/2x. and i took 15 mins to attempt and got 1 top notch. just wont budge and I had wanted it tighter than my size(4X on chart). but just wouldn't go on. so I ordered the 5x. I just got the 5x in and laying flat under the 2x, eyeing it, its only one whole flap material with all the buttons and 1/4 more. but after attempting it, I got it on. Not very easily, you have to PULL. But def not as hard as the 2x. I held at back and swung left hand to belly and then swing right hand to belly and got at least one snapped then others snap easier till bottom since in curvy... SO, I re-did it as close to the upper waist under bra area as possible and then buttoned them all at upper waist and once buttoned, shoved hand in and pulled my lower belly up as I pulled down the corset at the same time with other hand to lower. Its comical, but I scrolled thru some advice so hope it helps. That said. It is actually pretty comfortable and hasn't rolled IN FRONT and the few bones in front dont hurt either. didn't get the steel. 2x was breathable with the dot holes, but 5x only came in black. Felt the same soft rubber like. however. The back crunches in ad back waist and hurts a bit in the back. Its not horrible after sitting here a white and can probably get used to it. I cant smooth it out because its tight guess, and my Waist under bra down to belly button is 10 inches smaller than lower hips (around pouch below belly button.) I did tighten the first 2 upper notches to middle and left the rest on the last loosest one. but Its tight ya'll. I can breathe fine just wish back wasn't caved at waist. Doesnt matter your weight cause clearly on here everyone's body is diff. GO BY MEASUREMENT... EVERYONE keeps saying to measure above the belly button. but it makes it cave in the back for sure at my lower waist. and again thats 2 measurement sizes(not letter sizes) bigger than chart & 6x would probably be better but not horrible in 5x. Thats why I'm debating on exchanging 5x for the 6x. I dont want the upper waist so much bigger. Hoping 5x will stretch with wear. I have a 41 waist and 51 hips. loosely measured and didn't pull tape. and chart says I'm a 4x. NO. again 5x did finally close but its tight. 2X was a joke and I think 6x may be even better. I did the tag at upper back like every shirt goes. I'm 5'3 1/2 and the height of it did go as stated- from top under bra to lower hip and is actually holding in my belly overhang just above pubic bone. if your belly is more than 10 inches than waist you make think its short and doesn't get all that belly. the 2x made me feel this way and I said there's no way its that long on these people reviewing, but in my 5x size it DOES indeed get it all in. I'm sitting to type this to return the 2x and it really hasn't been bad sitting at all. just hurts a bit at the back so will likely leave a mark there and can feel that I'll need to move soon.. it also isn't too tight at upper waist causing boob bulge or pushing to my neck, 2x sports bra or 38f. i assume because my upper is 10 inches smaller so the upper half is looser. plus i pushed it down more maybe 3 fingers below bra line. you will see some bones but mostly clasp area down front thru clothes IF fitted. may depend on material too. my regular loose-ish tee's and leggings you don't. maybe turn sideways if fitted clothes or have someone close backwards for u although with it caving in back it may pop off so don't suggest backwards unless you have a straight figure not hourglass or semi hourglass like me. Hope this loooong read helps. Will paste on my 5x order as well.

Very sturdy waist trainer!
This waist trainer really does what it’s suppose to! It snatches you up real quick, and very much so helps to correct your posture. Of course if you eat healthy, workout and wear the waist trainer daily you’ll see some improvement. I constantly feel like my abs are contracting as if I did a bunch of sit ups after wearing this for an entire day, so it helps keeps your abs active. First day trying to put it on it was very difficult and stuff, but once I got use to it I had no complaints. I really love how comfortable this particular waist trainer is compared to others, and the steel boned material inside the waist trainer is not uncomfortable. I do wish there were options to purchase fitting the length of your torso. It’s a bit long and while sitting down can compress your hip bones, so I have to pull it all the way up! Lol

Feeling snatched 😍
I use to order waist trainers from another site and I couldn’t remember the name of it so I just looked on here to see what they had. This trainer was half the cost and I feel comfortable in it. At first I was struggling to put it on and got upset if I had to send it back and order a bigger size.I’m 5’1, 182 pounds and got a size large. Well I’m not a quitter so I kept trying lol. I finally got it after a few minutes. I love the 3 rows because I’m eating healthier and working out already lost 25 pounds so this will be perfect and will continue to fit once I lose more weight and can go to the next rows. Definitely worth it. I always loved waist trainers feeling snatched in it and it helps the posture sooooo much. It helps alot with back fat and shrinking your waist especially more when you work out in it. My favorite part is taking it off after 5-8 hours and that feeling of relief from it but also seeing results after time. ☺️

Sizing is confusing Support is amazing
I had to order this shaper twice since sizing is a bit off and on the smaller side, I originally ordered XL and it fit like a Small on me, had to order XXL and at first try it was super hard to put on, I wore it for the entire afternoon but I couldn’t breath in it so I took it off, it had been sitting in my closet since then and I was going to return it today but I decided to try it on again, AND WOW I FIT IN IT THIS TIME and it was easier to put on so I will not be returning this item any longer. I love that it has 25 steel bones and offers so much support but be sure to order one size up of your shirt size because I bought my regular size (XL) thinking I wanted it to be tight on me anyway, but it just did not fit at all, I’m originally a L/XL and the XXL fits super snug (I’m 5’5 220 Lbs AND WORKING ON IT!) lol

My first experience w a waist trainer
Wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this. It’s comfortable, I’ve worn it all day from the beginning. The biggest reason I’m shopping for another is this one seems to be for an average height woman. I’m 5’1” and if it weren’t for jamming up my bra I’d wear it to work. If I pull it down, it’s jamming into my hipbone and if it’s rides high, it pushes my boobs up in my face. I wore it around my house all day for three days but it’s not comfortable enough to wear it to work. It took a few tries to figure how to close all the clasps without some coming undone. I’m looking for another for a short torso and with 4 big clasps rather than 20 tiny ones. This one will be a good day off backup tho.

I don’t know why everyone says to size down
I’m 5’8, 125 pounds with a 27 inch waist so I bought the size small but even when I have it on the tightest hook it doesn’t really CINCH my waist like I want it to. I don’t think it’s very tight actually it is a bit stretchy but this is my opinion after wearing handmade corsets. Other than the size chart being a little iffy, it is a good product and I’m just going to size down to an xs in order for it to fit my needs :)

Great Choice 👍 but need to size up 1.
I was looking for a new waist trainer that wasn't necessarily for working out and this was such a great fit. I do recommend to size up by one size from the regular t-shirt size you normally wear. I bought a Large and had to return it for an XL and it was able to wear it even though it fit snug. I could wear this everyday for a few hours and already noticed better posture and eating less. Hopefully I see more results the more I wear it. I highly recommend.

Exactly What I Wanted
It’s a snug fit. The outside is a latex rubber. Inside is soft. This is not my first waist trainer. It is however exactly what I was looking for. It holds in my stomach. Straightens my back and is comfortable. There is a bit of back fat bulge but I just wear bigger sweaters. It makes me feel confident even if wearing at home. The closures are sturdy. I am not a tiny girl. I bought the XL and my waist is roughly around 36-37”. I have the trainer on the biggest hook. I’m pleased with the purchase. I bought it due to ripping my old trainer and because I have lower back pain. It also flattens my stomach a bit and prevents me from over eating.

Great Quality and Support!
The media could not be loaded. I bought XL and it fits on the first hook currently. I like that it gives me some room to work towards getting to the 3rd hook. It is bery high quality and comfortable and provides the back support and tucks the tummy in well. I’ll wear this for maybe 2 or 3 hours a day. Love it! I hesitated on buying this but I’m so glad I took the risk…

Happy, Chart instructions needs adjustment
It feels like a good quality product. It’s strong and really gives you the shape you wanted. Also noticed that it helps with posture. Just be very careful when choosing your size. Their chart is accurate but you have to measure yourself while sucking in your gut to your limit so you can have the perfect size.I am 5’10 in height currently trying to lose weight now at 79kgs (you can’t really measure it by your weight because of muscle/fat mass, just for reference)I measured as per their instruction and I measured my waistline without sucking in my gut and I I was at 38 inches and according to their chart my size is 3XL. I sucked my gut and I measure 32-33 inches and got an XL because making you slim is what waist trainers are supposed to do.It finally came and it looked big! When I tried it on while sucking in my gut, I could get it to the first hook very easily. I can get it to second hook with a little effort. I can get it to the third but it’s very hard and very uncomfortable so I am at the second now! They say it should hurt but second clip would be the best if I’ll wear it for 8 hours at work (health care)3rd day update:Totally recommend to size down. On the chart I was 3XL, I bought XL and fit it to the second on the first day. On the exact same day after a few hours I was comfortably wearing it on the third clip. It stretches to your body. 3rd day I am wishing that I bought a Large instead because I don’t feel squished anymore. Will update if anything happens.

Exactly what I need
This waist trainer is really great. I am 5'2 and I order the smaller torso- xs.. At first, you may have trouble putting it in as this is not super stretchy, but once you wear it, t is really comfortable. I just had a baby and I've been using so many types and different brands of WT but I am not happy with them unlike this one. It fits perfectly and it hides the pooch I have from pregnancy. Another thing too, this may not be as stretchy as the others but it isn't an issue to me at all.
