No 'Low' speed
You get what you pay for, I knew what I was getting. The lowest speed is still very fast. I get why they did that, though. The motor is TEENY-TINY, and doesn't have much torque. If they had an actual low speed, it would be very easy to stall the motor. If a lay person were to stall the motor, it might burn up and become a warranty claim. So no low speed is probably by design. Construction is decent relative to the price point. Motor is a universal type brushed motor, series wound, with 5 speeds made by 5 taps on the field coil winding. Taps are fairly evenly spaced, in about 5-ohm steps. Sleeve bearings, which would probably make it quieter and smoother than ball bearings. Not sure if they are graphite or oil lubricated. Interesting spring-loaded thrust bearing. It has a rectangular thermal cutoff wrapped onto the field coil. Looks like a breaker type that should self-reset. All wires are soldered. Grease on the gears looks like normal grease, probably not food-safe, but I have no way to confirm. Doesn't bother me, it's harmless. The case looks like it's designed not to allow any grease to fling out. Gears are one piece with the whisk holders, appear to be nylon. Motor and gearbox are one unit. There are two rubber mounts at the front, but no mounts near the back. Whisks snap into the holders, they are not locked in place. The eject button only pokes them out of the holders. However they stay in firmly. Speed switch is backwards from what I'm used to, muscle memory has me switching it up to High when I want Off. I could reverse the switch, but it would take some wiring work, so I'll just get used to it. Giving 4/5 stars only because of the really high Low speed. I would much rather have a low speed, and be able to stall the motor. I'm smart enough to pick a speed where it won't stall.

No lower speed.
Its very nice but it doesn’t have a low speed. It seems that even mixers with six speed dont have a low speed. I dont understand why.

Just buy it
I love almost everything about this mixer. It comes with different attachments, the stand holds all those attachments. You ever mix something and are awkwardly holding the mixer bc you need to pick up the bowl but might need to mix more.. you can't put it down bc it'll tip over with the attachments in or worse the cord comes out the bottom so there's no way to set it down. This little thing fixes all that. It has a flat base so you are able to set it down and it doesn't fall over. The ONLY thing I don't love about this is it feels like the switch is backwards to turn it on. You slide the button down instead of up and for some reason it doesn't feel "right" it feels like its backwards lol. But doesn't affect function at all. Just something I will have to get used to. :)

I was able to mix my ground beef with no problem.
I was going to buy a stand mixer and because I was alone I was able to make 4 hamburgers. two smaller meatloafs and made small anount of macaroni with meat gravey. It was easy to handle as I am compromised with osteoartheitis. this hand held was wonderful. I mixed some at a time because I did not want to hurt the mixer it worked best.....I am excited...

Just keep shopping do not waste a moment
This was a very cheaply made device. It didn’t even last star family a year six months into the device. We found her self sandpaper, and the rest of the different accessories. Don’t buy this. It’s a hunk of junk.! No stars!
