Great product
This product is unique in the options for horses with various GI issues. It really helps my old gelding, his poo went from liquid to near normal. Yes, it’s baking soda - but has a proprietary coating so it is delivered to the hind gut where it’s needed. Without the coating it would do no good. I appreciate the research KER does to create products that really help.

This insanely expensive product cleared up a chronic, gnarly hind gut ulcer
I have a really intense Thoroughbred who has always had chronic loose manure. I'd tried everything, including human-grade Omeprazole for months on end, and nothing worked. This took a good 30 days to start working but it's been the only thing that has helped this guy. He looks better, he's doing better work, is more able to focus and no longer has green stains all over his white hindlegs.

Not helpful at all.
Did not help my horse and she hated it. Very expensive for baking soda.

Expensive and not more efficacious than other electrolytes
I was attracted by KER's statement about the slow release effect of this electrolyte and wanted to try this electrolyte as part of my horse's electrolyte regimen. My horse found it rather unpalatable. Contrary to other electrolytes, he won't lick it from my hand or drink it if mixed in his water and Equishure must be systematically administered with a syringe. I did not see any major difference in his drinking in competition compared to other electrolytes. And in just a 14 months, the 7.2 kg Equishure container has doubled in price, give or take a couple of dollars. If the buyer is not concerned about palatability and is willing to have to use a syringe every time, there are other electrolytes worth trying that are cheaper and deliver the same result. I am not ready to pay double for the advertised time release effect that may or may not be desirable depending on circumstances.

This product is a lifesaver!
I have two horses on this product for going on two years now and I credit it for saving both of them. One had chronic, horrific (all day long, every day) diarrhea that we didn't discover until after we bought him and brought him home. We already had the other one on this product for sugar metabolizing issues that kept resulting in founder. The foundered horse has (knock on wood) not ever foundered again and we are able to turn him out on daily grass pasture with due caution and care as long as he is on EquiShure. The diarrhea victim, however, is the really miraculous story. We tried everything to help him before the light bulb finally went on and we gave him some of this miracle powder. We also eventually added Uckele GUT to the mix and the diarrhea completely went away. EquiShure is expensive, but it's keeping my horses alive and healthy and I can't thank KER enough for it.

It works- if your horse can eat it
This stuff really works well. But it's a powder and powders are so hard to get your horse to eat. Especially if you are boarding, it's great if the people who feed your horse don't have to jump through hoops to get the supplements fed. It requires wetting down some, but just enough to stick to the grain/food, not too much to get it "activated" too soon... and the horse also needs to eat it in a short time after the powder has been misted with water. I might see if I can get an oil to add to the food that would allow the powder to stick and also increase the palatability of the food so my mare will down it. I'd give this a five if they just made it in a pellet for ease of use, because, aside from my complaint, this supplements does work. My mare had better quality manure, was less edgy, and seemed more at ease when I was using it. I still have to figure out the best way to get it fed at a boarding stable when I can't be there to make sure she is eating it... It is too darn expensive for her not to eat it!

Great for hind gut ulcers
This product was listed on one of the forums I visit and recommended for hard keepers. I recently acquired an OTTB gelding that was not wanting to eat, angry and needed about 200lbs of weight put on him. I treated him for gastric ulcers, 24/7 access to hay and had his teeth floated but he still did not want to eat. I pulled him off pasture and put him in a dry lot with free choice hay and started him on EquiShure. After one week, he developed a good appetite-- is actually hungry and wanting his food, and has put on at least 50 lbs, (if not 100lbs) w/in the first 2 weeks. He was the only one that had not shed his winter coat but after 2 weeks on EquiShure, he's dropping his winter coat by the handful and his spring coat just glistens. His feet are growing out nicely and the farrier is amazed at how healthy the new growth is.

Good product.
My mare seems to have ulcers - a combination of EquiShure and Rite Trak have helped. Expensive, butseems to work.
