If you are just starting out with Agar and want something pre-made versus buying all the ingredients separately, then you can't go wrong with this pre-mix. Just measure the powder, stir it into slow rolling boiling water until dissolved, then pressure cook and pour. No issues with the plates i've used this on, and so far everything swabbed has taken nicely. Would definitely use again if needed!

I have been under the impression that peptones were only needing to be used for a very specific mycelial growth. That being said this pre-mix, agar powder has worked absolutely phenomenally. There’s a lot of debate right now, regarding the supplementation of peptones, agar and liquid culture. Although it appears to be relevant in only certain mycelial strain growth, I don’t know how “necessary” it is. Make sure to do your research!I have ordered products through this company before, and can tell you they are absolutely phenomenal with customer service, and do a wonderful job finding quality products to sell. I have always been 100% satisfied with everything I’ve ordered from them, and this agar powder is no different.As far as a agar premix goes, I’d say you can’t go wrong ordering this product, and then watch your mycelium go bananas! Just make sure you do the research to see if that is right for your strain. Definitely recommend checking this product out!

I am posting this review a bit late because I wanted to properly pour some plates first. OBut overall, I give it a 5-star rating considering the discount compared to other well-known brands. It has been working wonderfully, and I plan to reorder. The set up time was quick and everything went smoothly. Thank you!

Good product

Have ordered a couple of items from this company now and each is high quality. The one recommendation I have is that these containers should be sealed! For a product where contamination really isn't an option, I'm not sure why each product hasn't been sealed. This. combined with a paper stick-on label makes these items feel subpar or at least not of the quality of the products themselves.Aside from that, this is a high-quality agar powder that I've had a lot of success with. While it isn't ideal for every scenario, the mycelial growth I've had with this has been great.Recommended!
