Perfect solid wood chairs
These chairs fit perfectly and they were not difficult to assemble! I looked for different styles of chairs but settled on solid wood for practicality!! I love the open back design. My counters are 36” high and the chairs have plenty of knee room. One chair leg was a lil’ wobbly/short but the other there were leveled! I would buy more!!

You get what you pay for
I was looking for a set of bar stools / chairs for our new basement bar. We had to go the "DIY assembly" route because all of the pre-made bars we looked at were too large to fit down the basement stairs. Then we had to select some bar stools. We're both older adults of modest size, but did not want to risk trying to squeeze into a small seat and/or risk toppling over on something that was not entirely sturdy. Here's my review of these Crosley bar stools:Pros: They are made of wood. They're not made of "manufactured" wood. The finish is consistent (we purchased the dark ones) and looks nice once assembled. They seem sturdy enough to sit on, although I'd suggest getting some sort of furniture "sock" or felt pads for the legs as they're likely to scratch vinyl or wood flooring.Overall I'd say they're a decent value for the money.Cons: As another reviewer mentioned, assembly is a pain in the neck. You need to have at least a moderate level of furniture assembly skill to work through the challenges of getting the "stretcher" pieces to fit from the front legs to the chair back (which was the worst part of the assembly process). The pieces are marked with "left" and "right" sides. What worked for me was putting the chair seat on a table (face down) and assembling the chairs that way. The "left" pieces were the left as I was looking down at the bottom of the seats. Do not tighten the bolts for the front legs all the way until you get the stretcher pieces in place. When it comes time to add the screws in the channels on the stretcher pieces and front cross-brace, use a long philips head screwdriver. The holes are not drilled entirely straight (or consistently). You'll want to hold the front leg and chair back tight together to hold the stretcher pieces tight in place while you install the screws. Get a second person to help, or use something like sturdy bungee cords to hold the pieces tightly together while you add the screws. If you feel like giving up on the screws, you can always try a bit of heavy duty adhesive/glue and then use some rope or bungee cords to hold the pieces in place while it dries. This was the most annoying part of the assembly process. The stretcher pieces do not lock firmly in place in the channels drilled into the leg and back sections (unless you luck out and get chairs that were manufactured when everyone and/or the machines in the factory were all having a good day).

Very pleased
I read other reviews and saw alot of complaints about pieces not lining up, but I did not have that issue. If you put pieces in wrong, than it does not line up. I bought four stools and all are lined up and sturdy. Very happy!!

major manufacturing defect
There is a major manufacturing defect on this chair. Like many others that commented on the same issue, I ordered 2 pairs of these chairs and all 4 chairs don't have the side stretcher aligned correctly. I included pictures of the defect. If you are okay with it not looking perfect, the chairs are sturdy. I'm not happy you can see the gap and the screws exposed on both side stretchers. I guess it's a hit or miss if you get a defective pair of chairs. I was planning on order another pair but given the manufacturing defect, I will find another chair to buy.

Great chairs at a reasonable price!
I ordered three sets of these chairs to replace the cushioned ones I currently have that my cats have poked or chewed full of holes. I figured I would go cushionless so they wouldn’t have anything to chew or claw. I only have one put together right now, but I’m very happy with the quality. Sturdy, durable wood with a beautiful finish. Putting them together takes some time, but it is not difficult at all. The only tools needed are the supplied Allen wrench and a drill with a Phillips tip. You could use a Phillips screwdriver, but if you have a cordless drill it’s much faster and easier.Edit: Got the second chair out to assemble and there is one small area where the finish was scraped off (see photo), but for the most part they are pretty well packed. Will update again if there are any issues with the other four chairs when I get them assembled.

Really nice, sturdy chairs!
These are lovely addition to our kitchen. Was helpful to read comments about assembly (left/right indications) and they went together very easily. The screws “just” reach, and after about a month of use, one fell out, so we retightened all screws using a drill (originally had only hand-tightened). Overall very pleased.
