IV Organic 3-in-1 Plant Guard, 1 Pint (Greige)

Initially, the product seems expensive, but the can is packed with dense glob of protection. LOL! I completely trimmed and sealed a large fig tree and the sawed off branches (for rooting) and it only used a very small amount to cover all exposed areas. Highly recommend.

I'm a repeat buyer. This stuff is great. I have no idea how exactly it works. But it works like magic. Every two or three years I trim back the hedge along my property. Only problem is in the past the branches I trim end up completely dying. I believe (not sure) it is because the hedge is along the southern perimeter of my property and any newly cut branches can not handle being exposed to the sun/heat. The newly cut branches could also be experiencing insect damage. Whatever was causing the damage it is no longer an issue with this stuff. Not only does it protect the newly pruned hedge it protects some small trees I have begun using it on. Actually protects is an understatement. It protects and help the plants/trees thrive. I wish I had known about this stuff years ago. The only down side is it's a bit pricey. But if you love your plants, it's worth it.

Greige was an excellent choice. I was never thinking about the color at all while applying. Given the high price I decided to measure everything and use only 1/4, since I only had 3 small trees to treat. The box says 3.5 ounces but it actually weighed above 4 ounces minus the bag. Maybe I got lucky. It required 18 ounces of water to fill the container so for 1/4 I used 4.5 ounces. The vial measured 2 1/4 inches and was full to the top. I placed tape 9/16 from the top and carefully removed just that amount.It ended up making far more than I needed. I was pleased with that aspect. Stirring is an annoyance because initially it's clumpy and seems like that will never change. But using only 4.5 ounces meant I could swish the water around aggressively in both directions without concern of spilling over the top. Still, it required 10 minutes and didn't seem ideal even at that point. I continued to swish in circles while applying. Only near the end did the minor clumpiness disappear.Application was fine. Kind of amusing since I never imagined I'd be painting trees. I was too conservative until realizing I had plenty of product. Next time I'll use a bigger brush instead of 1 inch.This is not strong paint so clean up was quick and easy. The container cleaned nicely using merely a garden hose spray nozzle. The outside label does not stain like a typical paint can. I allowed everything to dry then placed the carefully resealed baggie and the vial back inside the container. Pot luck next time...whenever that is.

Very expensive for the amount given. Only was able to cover 1 tree and half of another. Trees were both only 3 1/2 fee tall.
