It’s like strapping a Volvo onto my hose!
Maybe this is you? Bought an older home with ancient central vac. It quit, home warranty replaced unit with new Nutone but left same piping, low voltage outlets measuring about 1.5in in diameter. I replaced with newer outlets, same low voltage, same diameter, just newer...real easy. Next problem, dirty heavy hose with no power attachments and it came apart because nothing locked together, it all pressure fit so as soon as I’d fit the pieces together and start pulling across my carpet, the suction would dig into the carpet and BAM, the hand piece would come loose. Gave up, started using canister vac, eyesore that lived in corner of kitchen for years getting tripped over. Finally visited vac shop after doing research and seeing that I could, with the right pigtail hose, get a wand and ELECTRIC POWER HEAD! Yaaaaas! I have carpet and bare floors, but more carpet, I want that power head baaaaaad. Tell vac shop guy. He says, buy a Miele canister vac. I leave. I come back week later. Still want power head. He says, won’t work with your low voltage unit. Buy Miele canister or upright. I leave. I come back a month later. He says, maybe you want new Simplicity Volt....499 dollars. I like it, don’t like price, and then I’d need new button lock hose which is another 100 dollars and doesn’t have a handle or on off switch...basically looks like my old hose but with button lock. Frustrated, I leave. Read vacuumland and reddit posts for days. Watch every YouTube video twice. Finally buy this unit and the beam 35ft pigtail hose because I have power outlet close to vac outlet on main floor, and can run extension cord on upper and lower floor. Get everything within a week. Vacuuming nirvana is had. Power head is heavy, like a Sherman tank, dragging me across my living room like I owe it money. The light is bright enough, not as bright as the Shark I used, but enough to illuminate under the table and chairs well. It works perfectly with the Beam hose, responds to the three way switch, no problems. The wand is quality, heavy, nice clicking noise when I adjust it, and one solid piece. The carpet height adjustment is sketchy, sort of skips around like an old stick shift. If my feet are flapping behind me, I know I’m on 1, if my shoulder isn’t being ripped from the socket, I’m probably on 3, and if I’ve got control, it’s on 5. I love it. It’s good pain. The fluff and fur from our two cats is GONE, finally...I can breathe again! It bumps over thresholds like nothing and keeps trucking. It eats Legos for breakfast. I get it out and my boys start frantically picking up their game controller cords and hot wheels. We play, let’s see who’s faster. Nothing is more satisfying than the sound of a lego being sucked through a 35ft hose. If you’ve got ultra soft carpets or delicate rugs, I’d worry about the agitation on the pile. We have hand knotted rugs but certain folks lost their complaining rights when we got cats, so I vacuum the tar outta these things and so far, no holes. If you have back or shoulder problems, be careful. The more suction behind the head, the stronger the pull because it’ll dig in and yank you around. If you plan on hauling it up and down stairs, be aware that the unit alone is as heavy as most uprights. Also, it’s probably too wide to do stairs, so think and a handheld or smaller turbo attachment for that. If you need a low voltage hose, the beam I bought on Amazon was cheap. It was 102$ with gas pump style handle, pigtail cord, three way switch, push button lock, and it works fine. It’s light, but kinks something fierce. I’ll probably upgrade later. The brush roller isn’t metal BTW, it’s not wood either. It’s very high quality plastic, better than anything I’ve seen. It’s a chevron style, single roll of bristles that channel towards the air inlet. I’ve noticed no scuffs on my pergo floors, but I’ve bumped the tar outta my baseboards and left scuffs so have a magic eraser handy. Also, eBay has good deals on central vac hose socks. Got a padded 35ft zipper sock for 18$ that helped with the kinking. One last thing, to release handle from the upright position, press button and gentle lean handle forwards before pulling back. It’s a catch release, so when you lean it forwards first, it gives the catch inside room to disengage and drop. If your pulling back, you’re putting tension on the catch inside and it can’t release. I noticed a few folks mentioned trouble with the release and it seems like it’d be easy to break.

One of the best head replacements out there!
Looking for a Vacuum head replacement? Maybe you should consider the Wessel 360. We have an older Tristar vacuum, and this Wessel 360 head replacement has made our outdated vacuum come back to life. It's fun to vacuum again. The vacuum (seems to) pick up more debris than it ever did when brand new, as this head creates a lot of agitation. The light is a nice feature, and many question why a vacuum head needs a light. If you vacuum in dark and tight spaces, you need a light to see what you are about to pick up. The head unit is very powerful!! Remember folks, there are 3 primary performance functions for a good vacuum to work properly. Suction Agitation Airflow If any of these falls off, then your vacuum is not performing at it best.

Crazy strong beater action, nice turning swivel joint too
I just got this yesterday, so I can't comment on reliability, but this worked perfectly on my Allegro hose for my Eureka central vac unit. No problems at all - it plugged in and the hose and electrical connections worked perfectly. Seems like a lot higher quality than the last one. A bit heavy, maybe 30% more than the older (cheapo) unit it replaced. But FAR more power than the cheapo unit - it has crazy strong beater action. I like the extendable tube. And the turning swivel joint was a pleasant surprise - I wasn't expecting it, but it sure makes it easier to steer around the room.

Impressive performance
All I can say is WOW! This thing is really powerful. I have a section of carpet that really gets beat down from foot traffic. Both my old power head and my Hoover canister vacuum would skip over the carpet as I vacuumed. This head beat (bad pun) the fibers into submission. No skipping. Probably the best cleaning that rug has ever seen. My only complaint is the wand does not lock into my hose. I thought I had the right one (I have a Nutone with the receptacle that looks like a house) but the locking mechanism does not line up. However, it has a pretty tight friction fit and it has not come apart yet so not a big complaint. If you have an old head for your central vacuum I would definitely recommend replacing it with this one.

It pretty good
This is heavier than our old one, so it is not as easy to maneuver. It does clean the carpets better and was a decent price. I was able to use my old wal-vac hose and it plugged right in and worked.

I love/hate this
After 9 years of service, my old powerhead finally couldn’t be fixed again and I opted for this unit. The power is great and it worked well with my existing hose. However, adjusting the height started a bit difficult and has become almost impossible. I have a few different kinds of carpet in my home so the adjustable height was really one of the main selling points for me so this is super frustrating! I literally have to bang it against the floor because it gets stuck between heights. I’m pretty handy (rewired my last powerhead a dozen times) and I can’t seem to fix this problem. It’s so much better than my last unit but this one problem is enough to make me crazy. It seems like a good powehead if you aren’t planning on switching heights around, but unless I just got a bad unit, I would look elsewhere if that’s important to you.

Stay away from seller 360 vision and perhaps this item also
used several times because it was really difficult to remove from my hose head. Finally decided to start using it just recently and it began making bad noise like something was sucked up that shouldn't have been. Also, height adjustment stopped working. Took off cover to see if I could find something caught and try and fix height adjustment. After much trouble, the height adjustment was fixed, and didn't see anything caught, so thought I'd try it out again. I plugged it in and almost immediately it began to smoke and then burned my hose connection (which I had replaced the year before and was working without incident). The power head is still under warranty, but the company said problem is with wand and that is not covered - so, I am left with a company that will not stand behind its product (the seller - 360 Vision), a burned out wand and now my entire newer hose is also ruined - so in the end, this is costing me a LOT of money and NO SUPPORT BY SELLER!!! Stay clear of this seller.
