Sex and the Single Vampire (Dark Ones series Book 2)

This book was just plain fun to read. Very funny. Good plotline. Exciting and intriguing, but the best part was the characters. Every character was awesome. Bringing in characters from the previous book just made it better. I never thought I would ever say this, but it almost didn't matter what the storyline was because the characters were so interesting and funny. Don't get me wrong, the plot was very interesting as well as exciting. The romance between the main characters was perfect because it was not a love at first sight type of thing. You will enjoy this and laugh out loud at the snark and funny parts. If you just want to enjoy for awhile when life is getting way too serious, this should be a definite option for escape.

Book was good. Thank you. Can't remember now since I ordered all the books in this series, if you were one of the slow ones mailing the book or not. But some of them took a long time to finally reach me. Usually dealing with Amazon.com items bought have had a prompt delievery. But not these used books that I bought from this series. It's ok, since this was my first time dealing with Amazon's used book dealers, I think I will be better off just buying all brand new books from now on. At least those I receive real fast, and prompt. :) By the way Amazon, if this is going to you first, I'm not going to rate all the rest of these books, because the books themselves were all great, I enjoyed them all, it was the late deliveries that drove me crazy. Ha. Great read draws you in stimulate the imagination

I left a review of Book 1 explaining why I didn't care for it. This novel is better. I still like the concept of The Dark Ones. The story was good although Allie was nearly as annoying as Roxy--at least at first. But her reasons for it were explained (where Roxy's weren't) and so she became more likeable. Christian became more real in this book and had incredible patience with her.I found this plot to be better than the first, probably due to absence of Joy & Roxy. There were new characters added and new supernatural characters, too. It was a decent read.

Found this book yesterday and just finished it and I really enjoyed this one better than the first one. She seemed more comfortable blending her characters together and their interacting was so much better. I really enjoyed Allie and also seeing Joy, Christian, Rapheal, and especially Roxie. Also loved the six ghosts they all had such personalities, Esme was my favorite. I highly recommend this sequel,you will enjoy it, I would say to read the first book in the series first,but not necessary because Katie describes them so well. More excitement and action and finally humor to round it nicely. Read it and enjoy, Katie please hurry with the next one.

I have repeatedly read this book through the years and each time it is fresh and humorous. The characters are unique and the writing is perfect.

I give this book a 5 because even though there was explicit SEX scenes and some grisly fight scenes, this author got it right! She wrote great characters, excellent plot and some fun in between. WHAT AN IMAGINATION. KUDOS TO KATIE.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series (A Girl's Guide To Vampires) but I have to say that Sex and the Single Vampire surpassed my expectations and was a fantastic read. While you could probably get away with reading this as a stand alone book I would recommend reading the books in order as this continues very nicely from the first book & has guest appearances from previous characters. Reading this book first would give you a big clue to the ending of the first book.Allie is a Summoner but not a very successful one - in fact she is on a warning from her boss that unless she proves herself during this trip to London she won't have a job to come back to. When she manages to Summon the ghost of a cat she is over the moon but before long she seems to be collecting ghosts left right & centre. This may be fantastic for her career but unless she can work out a way to Release them into the afterlife it looks like she is going to be stuck with them.She is also seeing visions - naked & bleeding from multiple cuts the man she sees is telling her she is the only one who can save him. She is surprised when she bumps into Christian and realises he is the man from her visions. He is a Moravian Dark One and he believes she is his Beloved - the only one who can save his soul. Allie has had a bad past with men - she has escaped from an abusive relationship and has no intention of ever letting a man have any kind of control over her again. The last thing she is looking for is a relationship & she doesn't take kindly to Christian's attempts to protect her. There is an instant attraction between them though which leads to fireworks between them.This book had all the hilarity of A Girl's Guide to Vampires & more. We get to see Joy & Roxy from the previous book and the addition of the ghosts just adds to the fun and games. There is also plenty of action - Christian's friend is missing and Allie offers to join the search to help find him - they come across enemies that seem almost impossible to beat and it will take all their combined efforts to come through this. Allie is strong, independent & the Queen of rants and witty one-liners and I couldn't help but fall in love with Christian. This book kept me gripped from the very first page and I didn't want it to end. I'm just pleased that there are more books in the series & I can't wait to continue reading them. I really can't recommend this book enough.

Intriguing, sexy, funny and an all round good read. A good book to enjoywith a glass of wine or a lazy day on the deck.

Fast paced action throughout with humour in all the right places. Sexy Christian does not disappoint. An excellent read. A must read for all vampire and demon lovers!!

I was so unfortunate to read no. 3 of the series first, and then found out (because i loved it!) that the author had published a hole series. Bought those that sounded good, and they er NOT disappointing! The author keeps her language humourous and the plot doesn't beat around the bush. If you liked some of her other books, you will deffinately have to read this!
