This is a surprisingly good set. Definitely NOT junk, everything is well and solidly made, well finished, well painted, etc. Perhaps not "premium" or "professional" quality, but for casual use it's really very good. I can't tell if the balls are solid plastic or what, but they've got good weight to them and seem very solid. There is nothing else plastic, which is very refreshing. One touch I >really< liked was the carrying case, which is (gasp) LARGER than it needs to be. Nearly ALL games pack everything into a skin-tight case that requires you to be a Jedi puzzle master to Jenga all of the pieces in, but not this one. Goes to show they weren't trying to save pennies. Do realize that the mallets have a handle length is made for kids, not adults, and is therefore on the short side (this is clearly indicated in the description / photos). Adults can certainly use them, but they are not full-length - that usually costs more. I'm 5'10" and haven't had any issues. I think they'd be fine for any kid about age 6 and up. Would recommend.
