I had a hard time looking for gallon-size silicone bags with similar dimensions to a gallon ziploc; there are some 'dish' or 'cup' type products that hold a gallon of liquid but I specifically wanted to be able to stick a plate in it (weird, yes, but I have reasons). I've used other reusable silicone products in the past and I know the quality REALLY varies, so I combed through products and product reviews to find something that is easy to open/close and stays that way over time. My experience is that some of the cheaper products stop sealing shut after a few washes, especially the very thin ones. So, these came and first off they are THICK, and HEAVY. They're high quality silicone, and this gave me a lot more confidence in the durability - and they will hold up to freezing and sous vide. It took a bit of finagling to get the two sides to separate, I actually thought at first that there was a really wide seal around the edge, but they were just stuck. Each bag did come with a bit of paper lining inside to keep most of it from sticking, but there was a wide border around that. They're not intuitive to open, but if you read the directions and realize you have to slide the bar, it works like a charm. I haven't frozen them yet, I know some people have complained that they stick when frozen, but I don't really need these for freezing anyway so that's less of a concern for me. They're not easy to wash, but no less difficult than most silicone bags, and actually a bit easier than the very flimsy ones. It's hard to hold something this large open to dry, so I wind up sticking a dish towel inside to absorb the excess moisture and that works fine. Overall, I'm really happy with these, and the price is very decent compared to similar quality silicone products. Even more expensive brands like Stasher aren't as well made as these; I'd say they're on par with my Zip Top containers (but ZipTop doesn't have a comparable size/type product).

Thick material. Hope it is sturdy and lasts.

I was concerned the bags would be difficult to open and close, but that is not true at all. Very easy, as long as you do it in the correct direction (check my pic with the blue arrows). If you feel resistance closing, means probably you are doing it the wrong way. I usually buy weekly my special gluten free bread and I freeze it already cut in slices ready to put on the toaster every day and the bag is great for that. I also usually take home made lunch from home to the office and these bags are great for the salad so I can prepare the fresh dish at lunch time. Lettuce keeps fresher this way instead of mixing earlier with the fish and pasta. I also like to make lemon juice ice cubes because my mother has a lemon tree and some times I have a lot of lemons that I do not want to waste, so I just squeeze the juice into a ice cube tray and use it later for lemonade or just add a cube to my drink. I've already had the concern to reduce single use plastic by washing and reusing the zip & go plastic bags, but now with the Homelux Theory ones i seven better because they are more resistant and durable and also I can wash them in the dish-washing machine, while the previous ones I always had to hand wash and not always had the time. Overall an amazing product that I intent to continue using, even going to buy some more. Haven't tried [yet] the microwave or cooking, but the fridge and freezer usage are great.

I’ve had reusable bags before but these are elite! Haven’t tested out if it is leak proof yet but I don’t plan to use them for liquids anyway. Great size, easy to clean, the “zip” aspect is interesting because it is a plastic part that slides across the top to close it. But it’s removable which is cool for cleaning purposes. Save our earth and buy these please!

These are very solid and durable. Unfortunately I had to return them as I needed a much larger size. The multicolour 4-pack are much smaller than a regular large ziploc.
