Poor materials/construction, AND it DOESN'T accomplish the goal!
While it's fairly decent in its reproduction, it hasn't worked as advertised and my bird problem persists (ATTACKING tinted windows!). It's quite cheaply made and will require modification to last any reasonable amount of time. Particularly in the wind, which I presume is the intent, in order make it appear to have movement. As you can see from previously posted pictures, the string used to hang the "Hawk" is VERY cheap and will deteriorate quickly in most any climate, particularly here in Texas. I always intended to modify with wire or a fine chain via the local hardware store. However, the bigger concern is the connection of the wing to the body. The front part of the wing has a hole in it, in which a small plastic piece from the wing inserts. The rear of the wing has a lip, that snaps into place on the molded body. HA! IT barely snaps in with any reasonable security. I'm certain a few heavy winds are going to simply tear it apart and the wing may FLY away! Therefore, my hope is I can use a few screws to make sure it's firmly in place. Made in China, it seems the extras to make it of any decent quality were left out to keep the price down which really is OVER priced.UPDATE: I subsequently purchased 3 of the following: Scarecrow Fake Owl Decoy - Pest Repellent Garden Protector – (small). At about half the cost, where the "Flying Hawk" did zero to repel my pesky bird, EVERYWHERE I placed this almost "Cute" facsimile of an OWL, the bird did NOT return. Save your cash, go that route!

Made us the laughing stock of the squirrel community!
Cute, but instead of scaring the squirrels from our pecan tree, it seemed to bring on more! It was like they were laughing at us and brought all their little furry friends to laugh with them. :( Oh well, no pecans for us again this year.

It's ok...
The bird is a nice size and it comes with the rope and loop to hang it already attached, but the paint was chipping off as soon as I opened it. I hung it in my storage shed to keep rodents away. I also played birds of prey sounds every couple days. The visual of the bird didn't keep the rodents from walking through, the sound did. Rodents aren't stupid, they can tell the bird isn't flying if it stays stationary, so I tried to rig it to a disco ball motor and hoop so it would appear to be circling. I couldn't get the weight ratio correct, and I didn't feel like messing with it so I gave up on the "circling" idea. I just moved the bird around the room every few days. When I played the sounds, I didn't find any droppings. When I didn't play them for a while, the droppings came back. The hawk didn't work for me and the paint is chipping off. It wasn't outside, so there wasn't any damage or exposure. The paint just wasn't made for plastic.

Waste of money, unless you like buying poor quality
I purchased this decoy to try and help with a Egret that kept visiting the pond in my back yard, but I was very disappointed when it arrived, first of all the paint started to flake off the second I touched it, the decoy wouldn't even hang straight, I had to put weights on 1 side to even get the bird to hang straight. Oh and forgot to mention the fact that the bird came in in pieces, you have to put the bird together.. I should have returned but i was desperate to keep this egret away from my prize Koi.. don't buy this decoy, quality just not there, as far as keeping the egret away I can't say, because my German shepherd scared it off 2 days before the decoy came in... I just hung it in case the egret was scared of the dog and came back like he did many days before..

This faux hawk is pretty cool . Needed something to try and keep the woodpeckers away . Re hung it with fishing line. Nicely made. I'd suggests gluing the wings on if you have a lot of wind in your area

The woodpeckers got used to him pretty quickly so I hung it on our flag pole ...
We hung this hawk up and when the first wind came the wings fell off. I had to put a metal wire through the wings to keep them from falling off. The woodpeckers got used to him pretty quickly so I hung it on our flag pole where it can move often. I think it helps, but not as well as I had hoped.

A high flier
details are great and the bird does seem to fly when tied between 2 trees. However, we do find that the wing section will snap apart easily if it hits anything. I find that a bit disappointing, but it really does look real and performs well.

Working fairly good
We have a large area of windows that get a lot of bird strikes. I put this decoy up a week ago and so far it seems to be working as a deterrent keeping birds from flying into our windows. It has NOT been a 100% effective, but we have had far fewer strikes than before I put it up. So far...so good.
