Switch incorrectly wired
The switch was incorrectly wired. I resoldered the wires to the switch, as the picture illustrates, to make it work correctly. Intension is to have one switch position where current flow through the switch (not tripping the fuse inside the meter), and one switch position where current flow through the meter (enabling amperage measurement).

like the red and black...……...all the fuses...………..case is better then nothing
