Let's be realistic; the reason we buy things like camera half-cases is because we think they look good. We can mumble about scratching the hard-as-diamonds base plate, or getting a better grip with the little bump on the front, but it's really about looks.I had a black fake-leather half case on my Pen F, cost something like $6 on eBay, wanted to see if I liked the idea before springing any serious money. Loved the look, but it was recognizably not the product of a cow. At least not the outer skin. Gariz leather stuff is pricy, but this, and a few others that look identical, are reasonable, so what the heck.Well, surprise! or not. It looks great! I love the brown contrast (my Pen F is silver over black, so it's like a 1950's Packard, 3-tone paint job), I love the feel, It fits probably better than the skin fit the original wearer. And the little bump on front does help the grip a bit, surprisingly. It's still a handful with my 12-40 pro, which weighs double what the Pen F does, but the little bump adds some security with more practical lenses, like any prime. In other words, it's perfect. People assume I'm some kind of hipster shooting an old film camera if they see it at all. Now and then somebody comments on it and goes off on how their old Argus that looked exactly like that (it didn't) was the best camera ever made. It's great fun, in other words.I have one very minor grumble, it's not possible to flip the screen when it's all the way unfolded, you have to flip it between half out and 90% out. No big deal, I suspect that a razor blade judiciously applied to the left edge of the half case would cure it, but I'm not going to. I flip the screen approximately never anyway. By the way, it has a generous cut-out at the bottom allowing plenty of thumb grip on the screen to unfold it.OK, you've read plenty of rave reviews about this thing already and this is just one more. Here's the surprise. The strap that comes with is fabulous! Really!I expected a thin strip of stiff-as-wood leather, rough on the inside and crudely riveted. No indeed. Unlike many of the available straps, it's lined, and the lining is soft and neatly stitched. And there's a stitched cover over the rivet. And the leather is frighteningly soft, but seems amply thick and strong. It's not quite up the standard of, say, Ona's Kyoto strap, but the Ona is double the price of this half case and strap together, if you can even find one. I know this because I've fondled the Kyoto, and have one on order. Back to this one; I'm almost tempted to return the Ona. Or not, but this one is really, really nice. I mean it. If you're thinking about springing another $10--$20 for a genuine leather wrist strap, go have lunch instead.So, for the piddling price, this is a fabulous half-case, taking your thoroughly modern camera back a good 50 years in appearance (if you've been around that long, think what you could have done with a Pen F in 1965), that comes with a really nice wrist strap as a free bonus. And being prime, you can have it in a couple of days; 6 at most if you go for the cheap shipping. If retro appeals at all, this is the ticket.

I was skeptical because of the low price ($28). Amazed by the quality of the construction and fit. It was packaged nicely in a black box. A matching hand/wrist strap is included. The half case is beautiful and well constructed. Fit was very good. Two things I love: 1) the door on the bottom which allows access to the battery and memory card is secured with a brass snap. Simple and old school design which complements the retro Pen F 2) the formed handle on the front. It creates a sinuous curve while improving the grip.Well thought out - design is practical while complementing the retro look - for under 30 bucks!

Fits and looks great. Improves grip. Adds a bit more than 1/4 inch in height. I love using this incredible camera and the half case adds to the cool factor. Not that it matters, but this is definitely not "genuine leather." It is still quite durable.

Ordinarily, I would have given this 5 stars. It's very well made and fits the camera perfectly. One reviewer mentioned that the mounting hole was slightly off center, but that was not a problem with mine - it lined up perfectly. A minor point is that the stitching on the one I received is gray, whereas the stitching in the photos is red. I liked the red stitching, but like I wrote, this is a minor issue. The included hand strap is also high quality and a nice extra.The reason I deducted a star is that the company's name is BolinUS. I interpreted this to mean that this is a US made product. It's not. It's made in and shipped from China (took 6 days to arrive). I really have nothing against Chinese made products, but I don't like being led to believe that it's a US made product when it's not. So, for that, I deducted a star. If you don't care about something like that, then this is a 5 star product.

What can I say other than this is a great product. It is really well made. I can't believe the quality at this price. Looks wonderful on the camera. Adds to the retro look perfectly. Offers good protection. The battery compartment is easy to access. I absolutely love the hand strap and don't know what I used to do without it. The case adds a level of security when holding the camera that is not there in its naked form. In fact I was going to get a accessory grip but this is way better. And it is a steal compared to everything else out there. If you have a Pen-F you simply must buy this case. Six stars!!!!!

This works great and I enjoy the retro look. The snap open flap gives easy access to the battery and the card. My only surprise was this was the half case just the bottom part. I intended to mostly use it just this way but I thought I was getting the top part as well that I could use occasionally with the pancake lens. This was my derp though and I should have realized it based on the reasonable price.

Not genuine leather. PU is more accurate. In both smell and material.

I purchased this 1/2 case for my Olympus Pen F. The camera is a beautiful machine without the case. With the case it goes from beautiful to gorgeous. The Pen F is not an weather sealed camera, but having the case cover the battery and SD card slot makes up for that. I love that you don't have to remove the case to make a battery or card switch.The extra hand strap was a wonderful surprise and I really like using it. I recently broke my right hand and this helps me with my grip as I recover.
