Great movie

The story develops in a kind of religious-fanatical farm, where men and women are supposed to live apart, to follow strict rules, to work hard, etc. As it's common in this models there's a leader who usually claims to be a virtuous man and a god-touched disciple. Emma Watson depicts a flight attendant who decided to find and rescue her friend, she became a follower of the sect in order to find him.

I was already familiar with the story of Colonia Dignidad, and Brühl and Watson are two of my favorite performers - so I was naturally curious to see this film.I had no idea it would have me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The violence is a little hard to watch, however, it’s well worth seeing it through to the end.

I enjoyed Emma Watson and Daniel Bruhl's acting. DId not realize based on true events. Very compelling drama/thriller.

Pincochet the Chilean Dictator was the darling of the Nixon-Kissinger regime. Kissinger was Dr Death who never encountered a brutal oppressive regime he didn't love. Film depicts the reality of Chile Gov't violence in that time

As you can see in the special features Colonia exits and was as nightmarish as depicted.Go to The Pearl Button a Chilean documentary for details that will make this drama look tame.

A sound movie of history from Chile, and the toucher the government used.

This is not really a review of the movie which I haven't seen in it's entirety, but a criticism of the DVD. The version I received from Amazon does NOT have any subtitles despite saying "English CC" on the box. I am unfortunately at the age where I need subtitles to watch even the movies which I've seen before and kind of know the dialogue. This DVD's main title menu only has the the options for play, scenes, and bonus features. There is no setup option for either the language (which appears to be English 5.1) or subtitles. Because of the accents in most of the spoken dialogue, without subtitles, I am unable to watch it.

Ich hatte lange überlegt, ob ich mir diesen Film antun sollte. Das Thema ließ eine düstere Welt menschlicher Abgründe erwarten. Letztendlich habe ich mich dann doch darauf eingelassen. Zum Glück, muss ich sagen. Ich zähle ihn mittlerweile zu den Filmen, die wichtig sind, da sie erstens hochaktuell und zweitens mahnend einzuordnen sind. Was der Film zeigt, ist, wenn man den Beschreibungen und Aussagen von Insidern glauben darf, eine sehr realistische Darstellung der Machenschaften eines Paul Schäfer und seiner Sektengemeinschaft. Davon ausgenommen ist natürlich die darin verwobene Liebesgeschichte der beiden Hauptfiguren. Die jedoch ist ungemein spannend erzählt und umgesetzt. Ich habe den Film nun schon zum fünften Mal gesehen und bin immer wieder in höchstem Maße davon gefesselt.Warum ein Film wie Colonia Dignidad zeitlos wichtig ist? Weil sich das Prinzip von selbst erklärten Heilsbringern und "Führern" auf der einen Seite und kritiklosen und verführbaren Menschen auf der anderen, in unseren Gesellschaften ständig wiederholt.

Ich habe den Film in der Kinovorschau gesehen, aber da packte es mich noch nicht so sehr. Als er dann bei Sky lief, haben wir uns den Mal aufgenommen und nich wahnsinnig viel erwartet. Aber ich muss sagen, es war einfah soo spannend, dass wir nicht mal eine Pipi Pause einlegen konnten.Alles um uns herum war ausgeblendet und wir waren völlig versunken in diesem Film. Das ging soweit, dass man zum Schluss vorm Fernseher saß, völlig regungslos und hoffend, das alles gut ausgehen würde. Manchmal hat man auch einfach mit dem Fernseher gesprochen.Der Film hat super tolle Schauspieler, eine spannende Geschichte und ein tolles Szenenbild.Dadurch, dass der Film auf einer wahren Begebenheit beruht, macht es das ganze noch spannender, aber im nach hinein noch erschreckender. Man kann sich gar nicht vorstellen was Menschen anderen Menschen antun können.Habe mir den Film dann gekauft und sehe ihn sehr gerne, weil er einfach immer spannend bleibt.

Conoscevo già la storia di Colonia Dignidad, ne avevo letto molto ed ero curioso di vedere il film. E devo dire che merita davvero. La storia è coinvolgente e molto toccante nella sua drammaticità, e regista e sceneggiatore riescono a farci capire la vita che si conduceva a Villa Aurora senza abbandonarsi a facili scene "esplicite". Il tutto raccontando la storia d'amore tra un'hostess e un fotografo attivista per Allende che viene torturato dalla polizia di Pinochet e internato nella colonia. Quando la ragazza raggiunge volontariamente Colonia Dignidad in cerca del fidanzato scopre un mondo assurdo fatto di violenza e soprusi fino a quando...guardare questo film è un'occasione in più per capire di quali atrocità è capace l'essere umano, per conoscere la storia e cercare di non ripeterla. Consigliato!

Sotto Pinochet viene creata una colonia in cui soprusi, violenza, torture sono la norma. La storia (detta vera) coinvolge due ragazzi tedeschi, uno è Boehl e l'altra l'Hermione di Harry Potter, cresciuta e ormai lanciata nel cinema come attrice drammatica. Il cattivone di turno è il giornalista di Millennium, morto qualche tempo fa. La storia sembra davvero impossibile, ma ci sono tanti titolidi coda che raccontano che è andata a finire per i personaggi visti nel film. Sul Cile di Pinochet abbiamo già visto tanto, tutto incredibilmente orribile. Questo è un altro documento. Ci sono di nuovo i tedeschi che in abiti tirolesi agitano bandierine. Non finiranno mai?
