WD_BLACK SN850 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Gaming SSD with Heatsink - Works with PlayStation 5 up to 7000 MB/s read speed

Decided to pick up the 2TB SSD with heatsink as it was half price and I desperately needed to expand the minuscule 667GB of usable storage that the PS5 provides. Quite frankly, £250 for what you get is a bargain and I wasn’t going to miss out on it. Installation was smooth, even though I initially feared that I’d break the PS5’s cover trying to remove it it comes off relatively easily. Simply take the screws out once the cover is off, move the spacer down a step, plug in the SSD, screw everything back in and put the cover back on. Nothing too complex by any stretch of the imagination. Once I powered my PS5 back on, I formatted the drive and proceeded to move some games from my PS5’s SSD to the expansion SSD. 330GB, as seen in the image attached. This all moved across in a whopping 7 minutes! I’ve tested a couple of PS5 games on this drive and they all play identically as they would on the PS5’s SSD. If there is any difference, I either can’t see it or it’s incredibly insignificant. Zero complaints from me. Absolutely essential purchase for any PS5 owner.

I decided to go big or go home and brought the 2TB model. Installation was very easy and needed only once screwdriver to install it. It fitted into the slot very nicely and my ps5 booted up with zero issues. The read/write speed is also brillent. I'm now downloading pretty much all the games I want to play and still have over 700GB left!

As someone with a lot of PS5 and PS4 games I felt that I really needed an extra place to store my games. After doing some research I noticed that in the PS5 there is a M.2 drive slot which is a brilliant way to add a drive into the PS5 without it being too complicated to install. In terms of fitting this drive into your PS5 it's worth watching a video online with instructions. While it's not particularly complicated I would say take it slow and carefully just to make sure you do it the right way. When it's fitted right it sits perfectly and there shouldn't be any issues while it's being used. It will cater to M.2 drives of various size which is great as it means you can decide how much you want to spend on one depending on your usage case. I'd say for the average user you'd be happy with a 1TB drive but if you download a lot of games then you would probably want 2TB or 4TB. In terms of the heatsink option it is heavily recommended you get the M.2 storage with a heatsink particularly if you play for long sessions when you're on your PS5. If the majority of games you play are PS4 then you may want to consider getting a USB external hard drive as PS4 games will run off that (PS5 games however must be either on the internal memory or on the M.2 drive) Overall I am very satisfied with my WD_BLACK SN850 2TB drive, it's definitely a great solution for my setup and I do highly recommend you pick one up at some point if you do get a PS5.

It’s fair to say if you require extra storage for the PlayStation 5 then you can’t go wrong with this SSD. It’s very easy to install and as soon as you turn the console on there’s a prompt on screen to format it then your good to go. Easy as that. I’ve had mine in the PS5 for around a couple of months with zero issues and transferring game data from the internal storage to this is a breeze. The only negative is the high price point but if you can get it cheaper then go for it.

An expensive purchase that is almost required to get the most out of my ps5, so I opted for the 2tb but was close to considering the 1tb. I questioned the longevity of the storage solutions regarding file sizes of the games and concluded that I needed to purchase the 2 tb instead regarding the fact that I had six games installed and with only 85 gb left. The WD sn850 will be the most important investment I would recommend you make in reliability of storage for your new ps5 as who knows how big game files sizes could become in future updates?, so far a reliable option and peace of mind for the future of next gen gaming. 5/5 ☆.

Very easy to install, games load faster and downloading games with high speed fibre is great since there is no bottleneck from HDD

プレステ5に取付るのに適しているには2TBまでが適していると思いました。 いろんなコメントも読みましたが、メモリ数が上がると比例して熱がこもりやすくなる為 ヒートシンク(冷却機能付き）は、少し高いが、ながい目で見るとどうしても必要です。 それをふまえて買って欲しいです。

Die Festplatte hält, was sie verspricht und läuft in meiner PS5 einwandfrei. Man hat sogar die vollen 2 TB zur Verfügung - bei Festplatten früherer Generationen bekommt man ja z. B. schon mal angezeigt, dass nur 1,87 TB von 2 TB frei sind, obwohl noch gar nichts abgespeichert ist. Die Ladezeiten sind galaktisch schnell und der Einbau in die PS5 war im Grunde auch recht easy. Kaufempfehlung!

Installed it right after delivery. Had to switch existing ssd with empty slot around in order for Gigabyte mobo to recognize the new one. Cloned the existing with free software! Works like a charm!!! Tested the speeds with Crystal - works as promised. Item came 3 days earlier than originally planned! Super fast!!!

انصح اي احد ما يلعب العاب واجد زيي ياخذ واحد تيرا او اقل شيء ٥٠٠ قيقا، انا العب العاب مره كثيره ومالي خلق احذف و ارجع احمل فا اخذت ٢ تيرا و نقلت كل العاب بلايستيشن 4 إلى الssd و من الالعاب هذي كود و كود معروفه بالثقل و بطيء التحميل و ابدا ما عانيت بكود
